During a family trip in New Zealand, we decided to test the Four Points by Sheraton Auckland hotel, which is part of the Marriott Bonvoy program.
Booking at the Four Points by Sheraton Auckland Hotel
At the time of our stay, this hotel was a category 3.
It has since been upgraded to a category 4, which means that it costs between 20,000 and 30,000 points per night to get a free night.

The easiest way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points is by applying to one of the program’s credit cards:

Location of the Four Points by Sheraton Auckland Hotel
The Four Points by Sheraton Auckland Hotel is ideally located on Queen Street for exploring the city on foot or by public transport, like we did.
Around the hotel
The hotel is within walking distance to:
- Aotea Square
- St. Patrick’s Cathedral
- St Joseph’s Cathedral
- The Skytower
The bus is a quick way to get to:
- The Central Business District
- Queen Wharf
- The Silo Park
- The War Museum
- Mount Eden
The Auckland War Memorial Museum is perfect for children, especially on a rainy day!
Our room at the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton Auckland
Our room was a Larger Guest Room with 2 Queen size beds, which was plenty for us and our children.
It is indeed large and the bay window faces the Skytower.
We found all the typical accessories of this category of Four Points by Sheraton hotels, with a desk to work at. Internet access was excellent.
At the entrance, there is a mini-bar.
In the wardrobe, there is an ironing board and a safe.
The hotel is new and the room therefore includes the latest technology such as “Do Not Disturb” or “Clean Up” buttons instead of signs.
Four Points by Sheraton Auckland Hotel services
Breakfast
Since we have earned the Titanium status of Marriott Bonvoy, we are entitled to free breakfast for 2 people. Children also benefit from free breakfast.
Breakfast is taken on the lobby level, in the Queen’s Head Bar & Eatery.
It’s a buffet.
Here are some photos of the different dishes available.
As per availability, you can request to have breakfast on the terrace.
The restaurant
Even if in the immediate surroundings of the hotel, many restaurants (especially Asian) are available, we chose to dine at the hotel – which is more convenient with young children.
The cuisine is international.
For those without children, there is The Churchill bar on the roof of the hotel, which is the highest bar in Auckland.
Our general impression of the hotel
The Four Points by Sheraton Auckland is the only hotel you can book using Marriott Bonvoy Points in Auckland. Given its location and the number of points required to stay there, it’s a good choice!
