The Element Dubai Airport is a modern, eco-friendly hotel, ideal for extended stays in Dubai. Here’s my detailed review of the hotel.

Element Dubai Airport – Booking

Element Dubai Airport offers competitive rates, particularly attractive for long stays.

Reservations can be made online, via the Marriott Bonvoy app, or directly with the hotel. Marriott Bonvoy members benefit from additional advantages when booking directly.

During my stay at the Element Dubai Airport hotel, the night cost 18,500 Marriott Bonvoy points or around CAD 90. I chose to pay for my night with my Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card to earn 5 points per dollar.

Earning Marriott Bonvoy Points

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points for free stays at over 8,000 hotels worldwide is to hold the Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card (and/or Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Card).

In addition to the great welcome bonus on both cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all purchases and 5 points per dollar at Marriott locations. And each year, you’ll earn a certificate for one free hotel stay (35,000 point value) and 15 Elite nights toward your Marriott Bonvoy status.

The Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card is the best credit card in Canada for free hotel nights.

New Cardmembers can earn up to 110,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points with the current offer:

  • Earn 80,000 points after you spend $6,000 on your Card in your first 6 months of Cardmembership.
  • Plus, earn 30,000 points by making a purchase during your 15th month of Cardmembership.

This offer ends on September 22, 2026. The annual fee is $120, and there is no annual fee on Additional Cards, so you can add a partner or a family member at no extra cost.

Every year after your first Card anniversary, you receive an Annual Free Night Award good for a redemption of up to 35,000 points at eligible hotels and resorts worldwide. At a valuation of 0.9 cents per Marriott Bonvoy point, that certificate is worth roughly $315, which on its own more than covers the $120 annual fee. That is the main reason to keep this Card year after year instead of cancelling it.

To get the most out of the certificate, aim it at a night that would otherwise price close to the 35,000 point ceiling.

The Card also gives you 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year and automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status. Those credits count toward the next Elite tier, so you begin every year 15 nights ahead of where you would otherwise start.

You move up to Gold Elite status automatically when you reach $30,000 in purchases on the Card in a year, or when you combine 10 qualifying paid nights within one calendar year with the 15 Elite Night Credits from your Card.

Marriott Bonvoy points are generally valued at 0.9 cents each. On that basis, the 110,000 point welcome offer is worth about $990, and an Annual Free Night Award used at its full 35,000 point ceiling is worth about $315.

Marriott Bonvoy points pull their weight on free nights rather than on gift cards or merchandise, which is why this Card should be judged on the hotel stays it produces.

You earn 5 points per dollar on eligible purchases at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and 2 points per dollar on all other purchases. Points can be redeemed for free nights with no blackout dates at more than 7,000 hotels around the world.

The Card carries a solid package of coverages: $500,000 travel accident insurance, flight delay, baggage delay, lost or stolen baggage and hotel or motel burglary at $500 each, car rental theft and damage up to $85,000 for rentals of up to 48 days, Purchase Protection for 90 days and a one year Extended Warranty.

Two things to plan around: the 2.5% foreign transaction fee on purchases made in a foreign currency, and the 21.99% purchase interest rate, which makes this a Card to pay in full every month. Like all American Express Canada Cards, no minimum income is published for this Card, and you can see whether you would be approved before you apply, with no impact on your credit score.

Element Dubai Airport – Location

Located just 0.5 km from Dubai International Airport (DXB), the Element Dubai Airport hotel is perfectly placed for both business and leisure travellers. It offers easy access to Dubai’s business districts and major tourist attractions.

Element Dubai Airport – Check-In and Lobby

The hotel theoretically offers a digital check-in and mobile key service for seamless, contactless check-in.

  • Check-in: from 2:00 pm
  • Check-out: until 12:00 pm

However, during my stay, I wasn’t offered this option in the app and had to go to reception… where no one was (it was 1am).

To check in, I had to go to the Aloft Dubai Airport hotel, which is part of the same complex. But this cost me precious sleep time during my short stopover in Dubai!

Element Dubai Airport – Room

The Element Dubai Airport hotel features 89 eco-friendly studios and suites, offering:

  • Open-concept designs with lots of natural light
  • Spa-style bathrooms
  • Full kitchen or kitchenette
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Ergonomic workspace
  • Flat-screen TV
  • Safe
Review : Element Dubai Airport | Marriott Bonvoy - Element Dubai Airport-09

Room options include:

  • Studio King (with sofa bed)
  • Studio Twin (with sofa bed)
  • 1-bedroom suite (with balcony)
  • 2-bedroom suite

I chose the basic option, Studio King, and didn’t get any upgrades despite my Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status. For this short night, it was more than enough!

I usually like to stay in Element hotels on long trips, to take advantage of the in-room washing machine. Or when I’m travelling with my family, to benefit from a fully-equipped kitchen.

The bathroom is quite well designed with a large shower.

  • All Day Dining Restaurant: international cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Restore Grab & Go: 24-hour snack bar
  • W XYZ Bar: trendy bar open from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Free continental breakfast served daily from 6:00 to 10:30 a.m.

The buffet breakfast – free to all – offers a variety of Eastern and Western options.

Element Dubai Airport – Other Services

Other services offered by the Element Dubai Airport hotel include:

  • Outdoor swimming pool (shared with the Aloft Dubai Airport hotel, pictured below)
  • 24-hour RE:Charge fitness center with cardio and weight training equipment
  • Laundry service
  • Meeting rooms
  • 24-hour room service
  • Daily housekeeping
  • Free shuttle to Dubai Mall, La Mer, Dubai International Airport (T1 and T3) and DWTC at set times
  • Free on-site parking

And a laundry room if the washing machine in your bedroom isn’t enough.

Element Dubai Airport – Around the Hotel

The hotel is well located for exploring Dubai, with easy access to major tourist attractions and business areas. The free shuttle service to key sites such as Dubai Mall and La Mer is a major plus.

Element Dubai Airport – My Overall Impression

Element Dubai Airport stands out for its commitment to sustainability and its extended-stay concept. Spacious rooms with full kitchens or kitchenettes are particularly suited to longer stays. The bright, modern ambiance, combined with the many services on offer, makes it an excellent choice for business travellers and families alike.

Highlights include free continental breakfast, shuttles to key sites, and an eco-responsible approach. However, as with any airport hotel, a certain level of air traffic noise is to be expected. And I was disappointed by the lack of service on arrival at reception.

Overall, the Element Dubai Airport offers excellent value for money, particularly for extended stays, combining comfort, practicality and environmental commitment.
