Until October 5, 2026 at 4:59 p.m. ET, Avios from the Finnair Plus program come with a bonus of up to 50%. The mechanics have changed since earlier rounds: Finnair no longer cuts its price, it credits you extra Avios. You pay for 100,000 Avios, your account receives 150,000.

The more Avios you buy in one go, the higher the bonus climbs. Below 7,000 Avios, a purchase earns no bonus at all: that is the first threshold to clear.
Finnair shows neither its prices nor its bonus rate until you log in to your Finnair Plus account. The maths, however, stays simple: at the top tier you pay for 100,000 Avios and receive 150,000, so each Avios costs you two thirds of the going rate.

Buy if you are short of a redemption you have already found, or if your Avios balance is closing in on 18 months without activity: in that second case, the purchase resets the clock, and that alone often justifies the move.
Skip it if you are buying to build a reserve, or if you are aiming at a one-way economy seat: at roughly 1 cent in long-haul economy, the price you pay almost always exceeds what those Avios will give back.
