Tangerine « Coup de pouce » Contest: Win $100,000
To the point Tangerine is giving away 3 prizes of $100,000 plus a trip. Here is how to multiply your entries before September 15, 2026.

The Tangerine “Boost” Contest offers three cash prizes of $100,000, each accompanied by a 3-night trip for two people. The contest is open to Tangerine clients who are Canadian residents aged at least 18 years. Registration takes place between July 1 and September 15, 2026, and the contest continues until September 30, 2026. Each registered person receives 5,000 initial entries, then accumulates more through regular banking activities.

Three prizes of $118,000

The contest designates three winners. Each receives $100,000 in cash, plus a luxury 3-night trip for two people. The approximate retail value reaches $118,000 per prize, or $354,000 in total. The winner chooses their destination from three options, subject to Tangerine’s approval:

  • Mexico City, Mexico;
  • Whistler, British Columbia;
  • London, England.

How to enter the contest

No purchase is required. The contest targets Tangerine clients, but it stays open to anyone who opens an account during the period. You register from your Tangerine account and receive 5,000 entries right away. After that, your everyday financial moves add more entries. A no-purchase method also exists: an email to contests@tangerine.ca with a short text about your savings strategies earns 5,000 entries, up to three times per contest.

If you are not yet a client, opening a Tangerine savings account gives you access to the contest. The Tangerine savings account also earns a promotional rate for new clients, which combines two benefits in a single move.

Maximize your entries

Entries add up. The more eligible actions you take, the better your chances. Here are the ways to accumulate them, as of July 2026:

Eligible ActionEntries Obtained
Contest registration5,000 (one time only)
Deposit into an eligible Tangerine account1 entry per dollar deposited
Adding an eligible payroll deposit15 000
Opening a new eligible account10,000 per account (up to 3)
Referring a friend (Orange Key)5,000 per friend (up to 6)
Approved and funded mortgageUp to 110,000

Referrals provide a double advantage. You get 5,000 entries per person referred, up to 30,000 for six friends. In addition, each new person can receive a $50 welcome bonus if they meet the program conditions. Opening new accounts follows the same logic: three eligible accounts add 30,000 entries.

Depositing funds remains the most direct way to accumulate, at one entry per dollar. However, reaching the cap through this method alone remains unrealistic for most people. In practice, the high-yield actions are referrals, adding payroll, and opening accounts.

Should you open a Tangerine account?

The contest alone does not justify opening an account, as the chances of winning depend on the total number of entries. However, Tangerine offers products that remain attractive once the contest ends. The savings account pays a competitive rate, with no monthly fees or minimum balance. To enter: open a Tangerine account, then register for the contest before September 15, 2026.
