Wyndham Rewards to United MileagePlus: Double Miles on Point Transfers

In October 2026, Wyndham Rewards is doubling the United MileagePlus miles you get when you transfer your points: 6,000 points get you 2,400 miles instead of 1,200. According to the Wyndham Rewards redemption page, transfers to United are made in blocks of 6,000 points, up to 30,000 Wyndham points per transfer.
For a Canadian member, the question is straightforward: should you move Wyndham Rewards points into United MileagePlus miles, send them to Aeroplan instead, or keep them for hotel nights? Here is the math, using our valuations.
| Wyndham points transferred | United miles at the usual rate | United miles with the bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 6,000 | 1,200 | 2,400 |
| 12,000 | 2,400 | 4,800 |
| 18,000 | 3,600 | 7,200 |
| 24,000 | 4,800 | 9,600 |
| 30,000 | 6,000 | 12,000 |
The bonus only applies to the Wyndham Rewards and United MileagePlus pair. If you are aiming for Aeroplan instead, you stay at the usual rate of 5 Wyndham points for 1 point.
Wyndham Rewards offers more than ten transfer programs, including Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles and China Eastern, according to its redemption page. The bonus only covers United: the other partners stay at their usual rate.
Once the order is placed, a transfer cannot be cancelled. Before you confirm, check the following:
Our valuations put a Wyndham Rewards point at 0.8 cents, a United MileagePlus mile at 1.6 cents and an Aeroplan point at 2 cents. For 6,000 Wyndham points, that works out to:
With the bonus, United becomes Wyndham's best-paying airline partner for a Canadian member: 2,400 United miles are worth more than 1,200 Aeroplan points. Wyndham points still go further on hotel nights, even after the new Wyndham Rewards award chart took effect on September 15, 2026, with nights now ranging from 5,000 to 45,000 points.
The transfer makes sense in three situations:
If you have never used your United miles, start with our guide to booking award flights with United miles. A mile transferred without a plan loses its appeal.
If you were thinking of buying Wyndham points to convert them right away, compare what you pay with the value of the miles you get. Our article on buying Wyndham Rewards points covers the sale running until October 21, 2026.
To earn points that are more flexible than Wyndham's, compare these two travel credit cards:
Transfer your Wyndham points to United only if you have an award in mind or a Wyndham balance you are not using. With the bonus, 6,000 points get you 2,400 United miles, which beats a transfer to Aeroplan but falls short of a well-chosen Wyndham hotel night.
Check in your account that the bonus shows up before you confirm, since Wyndham does not list an end date. Create your free member account to catch the next transfer promotion, and see our ranking of the best credit cards to earn more flexible points.
