What the Marriott weekend sale covers
The discount applies to the standard rate, meaning the public rate the hotel offers at the time of booking. Prices are shown in the hotel's local currency, with taxes and fees extra.
Eligible stays run Thursday through Sunday. A Thursday night also requires the Friday night. At participating resorts, the rate is available every day of the week, subject to availability.

Marriott Bonvoy points on top of the discount
A booking made through a direct Marriott channel (Marriott.com, the Marriott Bonvoy app, the reservation phone line or the hotel itself) earns Marriott Bonvoy points on the stay. It is also the only way to get the 20% member rate.
Joining the program is free. A non-member who signs up before booking moves from 15% to 20% off, and earns points on the paid night.

Cash discount or points night?
This sale lowers the cash price, not the number of points for an award night. Before you book, compare the discounted price with the points price at the same hotel on the same dates. We value a Marriott Bonvoy point at about 1 cent: a $200 night after the discount is roughly equal to 20,000 points.
The discounted rate is often the better choice at a hotel where award nights are expensive, or when you would rather save your points for a pricier stay.
