China Southern is expanding its nonstop Vancouver (YVR)–Guangzhou (CAN) service in fall 2026. The announced schedule increases to four flights a week from October 25, up from two.
Vancouver–Guangzhou: two additional weekly flights
In its October 5, 2026 announcement, Vancouver International Airport confirms that China Southern’s two additional weekly flights begin on October 25, 2026. Guangzhou is also known as Canton. This is an increase on an existing route rather than a new Canadian destination.

Booking China Southern flights from Canada
Search your dates on China Southern’s official Canadian website. YVR’s release does not specify operating days, departure times or fares for this route. Check the booking engine before building the rest of your trip around a flight.
If you are continuing beyond Guangzhou, compare connection times and the conditions of the complete itinerary. When travelling from another Canadian city, check whether your positioning flight to Vancouver is on the same booking or a separate ticket.
China Southern and loyalty programs
China Southern has its own Sky Pearl Club program. The appropriate account to credit and the amount earned depend in part on the ticket’s booking class, so check the fare rules before buying.
An earlier option requires particular care: according to Flying Blue’s official notice, its China Southern partnership is suspended. Since January 1, 2026, earning and redeeming Flying Blue Miles with China Southern have been unavailable until further notice. Our Flying Blue guide explains the program’s other partners.
For a cash ticket, you can also compare bank points options in our TD Rewards guide. The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card is one option to assess against your needs. Review redemption conditions and eligible expenses; bank points do not establish China Southern award-seat availability.
