What Are Marriott Bonvoy Moments?

Marriott Bonvoy Moments are part of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, and they give you the chance to redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points for unique opportunities instead of for the usual hotel stays and flight bookings.

These Moments are available in locations around the world, and they include events such as:

  • F1 Grand Prix access
  • Tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup
  • NBA playoff tickets
  • VIP concert and festival tickets
  • A national park experience and a suite at the Santa Lucia Jungle Hacienda in Costa Rica
  • Michelin Star dining experiences
  • …and much more

By checking the Marriott Bonvoy Moments website, you can find a list of all the events currently on offer, as well as a list of new ones that are set to be released soon. The website is available in English, French, Spanish, and Chinese, though not all of the experiences are available on the non-English pages.

Some of the events that were on offer in Canada include:

How Do Marriott Bonvoy Moments Work?

To get your hands on a Marriott Bonvoy Moment, there are two ways to purchase: fixed-priced Moments and auctions.

The fixed-priced Marriott Bonvoy Moments have a set price, and when you find one you want to purchase, you can do so immediately, assuming you have enough points available.

Comparatively, the auctions start at a lower price point, and then Marriott Bonvoy members can bid on the event in question. This means you could get a good deal on a sought-after experience.

Additionally, the fixed-price option also includes the occasional 1-Point Drop, which offers access to high-demand events for just 1 Bonvoy point. These opportunities are quite limited and require you to act immediately when they “drop.” To help you be first in line, the 1-Point Drops provide a countdown clock, so you can be online and ready to redeem right when they’re released.

Redeeming rules and expectations

Some things to keep in mind with Marriott Bonvoy Moments:

  • You need to have enough points in your account to cover the full cost of the Moment or the full amount of your auction bid.
  • You can buy up to 5 Marriott Bonvoy Moments per calendar year, with a maximum of 2 packages per event.
  • You can claim only one 1-Point Drop per calendar year, so choose carefully.
  • Moments are not refundable or transferable: make sure you’re committed before you confirm.

Fixed-rate and 1-point Drops

The fixed-rate and 1-Point Moments are a straight exchange, so you just need to click to purchase when the chance arises. As long as you have enough points in your account, these events can be booked in a single step.

Auctions

With the auctioned experiences, the highest bidder at the close of the auction wins the package. Bids rise in increments of at least 2,500 points.

To bid on an experience, you can place a one-time, manual bid by entering the amount you’d like to bid, or alternatively, you can set a maximum bid amount, which lets the website continue to bid up to that amount on your behalf.

To further understand the bidding process, I recommend checking out the Marriott Bonvoy Moments website, as they’ve done a good job of explaining the process fully.

If you do choose to bid on one of the auctions, remember that you can’t change your mind after you submit your bid, so make sure you’ve chosen the amount of points wisely.

A recent example: Céline Dion Paris 2026

Marriott Bonvoy is the official hotel partner of CÉLINE DION PARIS 2026, her residency at the Paris La Défense Arena that runs from September 2026 to May 2027. As part of the partnership, Marriott Bonvoy Moments offered tie-in packages, including an ultra-limited 1-Point Drop for “Experience Privilege” tickets that went live on May 22, 2026.

Earning Marriott Bonvoy Points

The first step to enjoying one or more Marriott Bonvoy Moments is to earn a nice chunk of Marriott Bonvoy points, so that you can cover the auction or fixed-price cost.

To earn Marriott Bonvoy points, you do need to be a Marriott Bonvoy member, but conveniently, signing up is free, and you can easily join on the Marriott Bonvoy program website.

Once you’re a member, Marriott Bonvoy points are earned every time you stay at any Marriott property around the world, with the number of points you earn depending on the cost of your stay and any eligible expenses charged at the property.

If you don’t have any hotel nights coming up, you can also accumulate Bonvoy points by transferring points from other loyalty programs, such as American Express Membership Rewards. Additionally, if you only need a few more points for your dream hotel stay, you can also buy Marriott Bonvoy points to help top up your account balance.

Marriott Bonvoy credit cards

If you’re really looking to rack up Marriott Bonvoy points, one of the best ways to earn is with one of the Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit cards: Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card and Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Card.

Both of these cards let you earn points on all of your purchases, making it easier to accumulate enough points for luxurious hotel stays or Marriott Bonvoy Moments.

These cards also come with the following valuable perks:

Both cards also typically come with nice welcome bonuses, which help jumpstart your earnings. Plus, the value of the Free Night Certificate will almost always offset the annual fee, so these are both cards worth hanging onto year after year.

Are Marriott Bonvoy Moments Worth It?

Marriott Bonvoy Moments can be worth the cost, given how unique many of the experiences are. Many of the Moments on offer are events that are not available to the general public at any price, so even having the opportunity to access these VIP spaces is quite special.

If you can snag one of the 1-Point Drops, that’s clearly the best value, and a good way to enjoy a special event for next to nothing.

In terms of the fixed-priced Moments and the auctions, whether or not the price is worth it will depend a lot on the event in question, how much you want to attend, and how many extra Marriott Bonvoy points you have access to.

Bottom Line

Marriott Bonvoy Moments gives you and a guest a chance to enjoy unique VIP experiences like concerts, sports events, fine dining, and hotel stays around the world.

If you’re looking for a fun new way to explore the world, and you happen to have Marriott Bonvoy points to spare, it’s worth taking a look at the exclusive events on offer.
