Saudia: flights, baggage and points from Canada

Saudia connects Toronto Pearson with Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Flight SV62 links YYZ and JED. The airline belongs to SkyTeam and runs its own Alfursan loyalty program.
Pearson’s official Saudia SV62 flight page identifies Jeddah as the destination and Terminal 3 as the departure terminal. Times, gates, and counters change; use your ticket and airport displays for the actual departure.
Our Toronto Pearson guide covers airport access and layout. The YYZ lounge guide distinguishes terminals and zones. A Terminal 1 lounge is not automatically a practical option before a Saudia departure from Terminal 3.
Jeddah (JED) and Riyadh (RUH) are different airports. A Canadian flight arriving in Jeddah does not land in Riyadh; include the onward journey when planning a stay in the Saudi capital.
Guest Class is Saudia’s name for Economy. Business is its Business Class. Fare families can change modification conditions, baggage, and airport services without changing the cabin’s name.
The presence of First Suite in the airline’s general material does not guarantee First Class on Toronto–Jeddah. Check the cabins sold and the seat map for your specific departure. Material about a new aircraft does not necessarily describe the aircraft in your booking.
SaudiaBEYOND offers entertainment and menu searches by flight. The airline states that its meals are halal. Menus depend on the cabin and flight length; special meal requests are handled through the reservation.
The allowance depends on the ticket and the complete route. Read the included number of pieces on the booking confirmation rather than inferring it from Guest or Business. If you add a flight beyond Jeddah, also read that sector’s allowance and confirm baggage handling through to the final airport.
The Saudia baggage rules include North American provisions. They distinguish the weight limits for extra pieces by cabin from overweight-bag rules. An additional piece and a heavier suitcase are different purchases.
For carry-on baggage, the documentation lists a general 7 kg Guest limit and specific provisions for departures from the United States and Canada. Read your flight confirmation and airline guidance before departure, including with a Business ticket. Keep required medication and travel documents in the bag staying with you.
On a Toronto–Jeddah–final destination booking, first check each airport and the local times. JED and RUH are not interchangeable. A transfer between the two cities is not simply a walk between terminals.
With separate tickets, ask where to collect bags and where to check in again. Entry and transit requirements depend on the passport and routing: use official destination guidance and Saudia’s instructions for the booked itinerary. For lounge access, read the fare benefits and status entitlement; ordinary loyalty membership alone is not enough.
The official Alfursan FAQ explains award searches through the member account: start a booking and switch on the mileage option. Taxes and service charges still need to be paid when issuing the ticket.
The program distinguishes standard rewards from Reward+, which opens more seats for a higher mileage price. Reward+ availability does not establish that the same flight can be booked at the lowest reward level.
Alfursan also offers eligible Saudia upgrades. An upgrade and a Business award ticket follow different processes: before purchasing the original fare, check whether its booking class qualifies for the intended upgrade.
Saudia is an Air France and Flying Blue partner. Earning eligibility depends on the booking class. For spending miles, the Flying Blue airline directory also lists Saudia; an award search returns the seats actually available to that program.
Our Flying Blue page describes this program, which is separate from Alfursan. The Canadian American Express partners include Flying Blue. Membership Rewards earned with the American Express Cobalt® Card can fund that account under the transfer conditions, rather than going directly to Alfursan.
The Scotiabank Gold American Express Card earns Scene+ points. Applying them to an eligible travel purchase reduces a paid ticket. This method does not depend on award-seat inventory, but you need sufficient points and must meet the credit conditions.
Our best credit cards guide lists card fees and features. The Qatar Airways guide and Emirates guide describe other routes from Canada through Doha or Dubai. Our newsletter follows program changes.
