Ideas for Easter vacation activities

Easter 2024 – Getaways in the United States

Going to New York for Easter

With warmer temperatures, why not head to New York City for the long weekend to enjoy the Easter Parade? New York is an ideal destination, with its beautiful shop windows usually decorated for the occasion.

If you’re starting to accumulate points and don’t have enough in your accounts, sites like OneTravel can help you find affordable plane tickets or hotels.

Plan your visit with our four-day guide to get there at your own pace and our tips on how to get there without it costing too much, thanks to points, of course.

By car, the trip takes 6 h from Montreal or 8 h 30 from Quebec City. On-site, don’t hesitate to book your tours on activity booking platforms such as Civitatis or GetYourGuide, where you can sometimes get better prices and benefit from consumer reviews.

Going to Boston for Easter

Immerse yourself in the history of this friendly pink town! In our guide, we suggest various activities to disconnect from everyday life.

Boston is about 6 h 15 by car from Quebec City, or 5 h from Montreal. If you want to fly there, this destination is still worth your Aeroplan points for a few days’ visit.

Easter meal – Sugar shack

Easter is also a time for families to get together and indulge in maple products. If you want to stay snugly bundled up, consider home delivery with Ma Cabane à la maison.

Sugar shacks are mostly open in March and April. Here are a few addresses:

• A sugar shack and a slide in a flying saucer? You can see it all at the Cabane à sucre des sportifs in Saint-Esprit (Lanaudière);
• There’s always the ever-popular Cabane à sucre Constantin in Saint-Eustache ;
• Cabane à sucre Chabot in Neuville ;
• In Trois-Rivières, Cabane à sucre Chez Dany offers a traditional all-you-can-eat menu;
• In the Outaouais region, the succulent Sucrerie du Terroir in Val-des-Monts is one of the best in Quebec.

Want to understand how a sugar bush works? Become a maple syrup producer for a day at Aux petits plaisirs de Warwick.

Easter – Gourmet brunch

Many establishments across the province offer Easter brunch. Here are some of them:

• Maggie Oakes‘ unique table d’hôte in Montreal;
• The decadent brunch-buffet at Champlain, Quebec City;
• Family brunch at Hôtel Le Montagnais in Saguenay ;

• The gourmet buffet at the Vieux-Port Steakhouse in Montreal ;
• Comfort food from Distillerie Arsenal in Quebec City;
• French and Quebec flavours at Gaspar‘s in Montreal;

For maximum rewards when dining out, the best tip is to choose a credit card that gives the most points! Then, these points will be used to pay for your precious vacation at a lower price.

Like the wonderful American Express Cobalt^® Card, which gives 5 points per dollar, or the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card, which gives 6 points per dollar.
