After spending a weekend in the Agafay desert for an electronic music festival, I was able to rest at this oasis in Marrakech before heading to Taghazout. This itinerary was part of my two months working remotely in Europe and Morocco.

Le Méridien N’Fis is a large establishment offering all the necessary services to rest during a stay in the effervescent city of Marrakech. Let’s discover this hotel together.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Reservation

My night at Le Méridien N’Fis cost me 1,144 Moroccan dirhams, or about 150 CAD for a room with two single beds and a garden view. The rate included breakfast for two people.

Using your Marriott Bonvoy points, prices per night range from 11,500 to 16,000 points.

Earning Marriott Bonvoy Points

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points for free stays at over 8,000 hotels worldwide is to be a Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Cardholder (and/or Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Cardholder).

In addition to the great welcome bonus on both cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all purchases and 5 points per dollar at Marriott locations. And each year, you’ll earn a certificate for one free hotel night (35,000 point value) as well as 15 Elite nights toward your Marriott Bonvoy status.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Location

Le Méridien N’Fis is located in the Menara district of Marrakech, close to the city center and opposite a shopping center. Thanks to the hotel’s large grounds, we are sheltered from the noise of the city.

To go to the Medina and the Jemaa El-Fna square or to the Majorelle Garden for example, you can take a cab. There are a few usually parked in front of the hotel and prices can easily be negotiated; getting around by cab is very affordable in Marrakech.

I liked the fact that the doormen asked me if I needed a cab, and offered me some tips on how to visit the city.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Check-in

When we arrived, a doorman was waiting for us and immediately took charge of our luggage. The access to the hotel is fenced and gives the impression of entering a small vacation village. The entrance hall is vast and immaculate, one immediately recognizes the typical Moroccan decor.

After taking our passports, the staff at the reception desk invited us to sit down. We waited for about 20-30 minutes while we checked in, not knowing why. Although courteous, the receptionist did not give us any information about the hotel.

Rather, it was the doorman who delivered the luggage to our room who informed us of the times for breakfast.

In the lobby, there is also a concierge service and a currency exchange desk.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Room

To get to our room, we had to go outside and then through the garden to finally reach the fifth floor of one of the hotel’s towers.

Our room was large and had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

However, we feel that the decoration could be updated and that the furniture and the place are a little worn; on the other hand the large window gave a very beautiful view on the gardens of the hotel.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Breakfast

Breakfast is served at the hotel’s restaurant Le Jasmin starting at 6:00 am, which I greatly appreciated since we had to leave early for our next destination. The restaurant has tables inside and outside near the garden.

The buffet was very varied and included a choice of American and European food as well as local cuisine (Moroccan soup and other local dishes). An omelet station was available where we could order it the way we like. Here’s a look at what was served:

Le Méridien N'Fis – Restaurants and bar

Le Méridien N’Fis offers several restaurants:

  • Le Palmier: barbecue and drinks by the pool
  • Le Jasmin: Mediterranean menu and breakfast buffet
  • The Riad: authentic Moroccan cuisine for dinner only

I preferred to try the local cuisine outside the hotel, but the breakfast buffet was very good at Le Jasmin restaurant. I also noticed that there was a bar on site with a grand piano.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Pool

The pool at Le Meridien N’Fis is definitely appreciated in the intense heat of Marrakech. There are deck chairs and umbrellas all around.

The shallow part is ideal for families. Unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy it during my short stay but after hours of sightseeing, this kind of pool is a real oasis in Marrakech.

Le Méridien N'Fis – Fitness Center

A fitness center was available on site, including equipment and free weights for strength and cardio training. Since it is often too hot to train outside, the view of the garden makes it very pleasant.

Le Méridien N'Fis – My general impression

Although very short, I enjoyed my stay at Le Meridien N’Fis and wanted to stay longer to rest.

I recommend this hotel to individuals and families who want to enjoy Marrakech while enjoying a small sanctuary of tranquility. With the garden and its aromas as well as the large swimming pool, one definitely feels on vacation.

The Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card is the best credit card in Canada for free hotel nights.

New Cardmembers can earn up to 110,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points with the current offer:

  • Earn 80,000 points after you spend $6,000 on your Card in your first 6 months of Cardmembership.
  • Plus, earn 30,000 points by making a purchase during your 15th month of Cardmembership.

This offer ends on September 22, 2026. The annual fee is $120, and there is no annual fee on Additional Cards, so you can add a partner or a family member at no extra cost.

Every year after your first Card anniversary, you receive an Annual Free Night Award good for a redemption of up to 35,000 points at eligible hotels and resorts worldwide. At a valuation of 0.9 cents per Marriott Bonvoy point, that certificate is worth roughly $315, which on its own more than covers the $120 annual fee. That is the main reason to keep this Card year after year instead of cancelling it.

To get the most out of the certificate, aim it at a night that would otherwise price close to the 35,000 point ceiling.

The Card also gives you 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year and automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status. Those credits count toward the next Elite tier, so you begin every year 15 nights ahead of where you would otherwise start.

You move up to Gold Elite status automatically when you reach $30,000 in purchases on the Card in a year, or when you combine 10 qualifying paid nights within one calendar year with the 15 Elite Night Credits from your Card.

Marriott Bonvoy points are generally valued at 0.9 cents each. On that basis, the 110,000 point welcome offer is worth about $990, and an Annual Free Night Award used at its full 35,000 point ceiling is worth about $315.

Marriott Bonvoy points pull their weight on free nights rather than on gift cards or merchandise, which is why this Card should be judged on the hotel stays it produces.

You earn 5 points per dollar on eligible purchases at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and 2 points per dollar on all other purchases. Points can be redeemed for free nights with no blackout dates at more than 7,000 hotels around the world.

The Card carries a solid package of coverages: $500,000 travel accident insurance, flight delay, baggage delay, lost or stolen baggage and hotel or motel burglary at $500 each, car rental theft and damage up to $85,000 for rentals of up to 48 days, Purchase Protection for 90 days and a one year Extended Warranty.

Two things to plan around: the 2.5% foreign transaction fee on purchases made in a foreign currency, and the 21.99% purchase interest rate, which makes this a Card to pay in full every month. Like all American Express Canada Cards, no minimum income is published for this Card, and you can see whether you would be approved before you apply, with no impact on your credit score.
