For this couples’ weekend in Ibiza, we chose the W Ibiza, located in Santa Eulalia, just steps from the waterfront. We booked this getaway using our Marriott Bonvoy points, for a total of 57,000 points per night in a Wonderful Guest Room with a King bed.
We have stayed at several W-branded hotels over the course of our travels, and this one stands out for its more intimate scale. Suffice it to say the experience was enjoyable, with a few nuances that I will share in this review.
The W Ibiza is located in Santa Eulalia del Río, on the east coast of the island. This location will appeal to those looking for a calmer atmosphere than Playa d’en Bossa or San Antonio, while still being about a 20-minute drive from Ibiza Town.
The hotel is directly accessible from the seaside promenade. We really enjoyed this walk, perfect for a stroll before breakfast or at the end of the day. Bring good shoes if you want to continue to the village centre—it’s about a 15-minute walk. You can then access the hotel through a door using your room key card.
From the moment we arrived, the team was welcoming and warm. Check-in was quick, with genuine attention to guests. The lobby is open over two levels, with colourful furniture that immediately evokes the W brand’s relaxed, creative spirit.
We stayed in a Wonderful Guest Room with a King bed. It is the hotel’s entry-level category, and it proved more than sufficient for a weekend for two.
The décor blends colourful textiles, a woven wicker headboard, and white openwork partitions inspired by Mediterranean craftsmanship. The blue and amber geometric pendant lights add character to the space without going over the top.
The bathroom is spacious, with an oval double vanity, a backlit mirror, and a few gold accents that add an elegant touch. The walk-in shower is generous, with large-format grey tiles and built-in chrome fixtures.
Good to know: the bath products are by Malin + Goetz, a range particularly appreciated for its quality and scents.
Yellow Fish is the W Ibiza’s beach restaurant, and it was one of the highlights of our stay. The vibe is decidedly boho-chic, with a traditional thatched roof, natural-fibre chandeliers, and artistic bamboo structures. You immediately feel at ease; it truly feels like vacation.
We had dinner on the terrace with a sea view. The food is good quality, focused on seafood. The seafood casserole, with langoustines, clams, and potatoes with fresh herbs, was very good and served in a satisfying portion.
STEPS is another restaurant within the hotel, on the outer side facing the sea. You can have a drink there or enjoy a pizza or other Italian dishes.
The next morning, we had a very good à la carte breakfast at the FIRE restaurant, with a view of the pool and the beach.
The W Ibiza pool is located in an inner courtyard, with an integrated swim-up bar, bright yellow umbrellas, and a blue mosaic-tiled terrace. The atmosphere is relaxed, perfect for a day of lounging.
The pool is not heated. During our visit in June, the water was quite cool—for me, as someone who gets cold easily. If you are travelling outside the summer season, I strongly recommend having a Plan B for relaxation, or enjoying the beach if the weather allows.
The hotel also offers the GLOW rooftop, with a pool and rooftop bar overlooking the surrounding area, reserved for adults. DJ sets take place there. Unfortunately, since we had other activities planned, we did not have time to enjoy it. That will be a reason to return next time!
The hotel also has a modern gym called FIT, equipped with recent equipment and colourful LED lighting that creates a fairly futuristic, modern atmosphere. Convenient for keeping up your routine during a stay, even a short one. It is easily accessible via the elevator down from the lobby. There are also toilets and a changing room, for example if you want to go straight to the pool afterwards.

We paid for our night with 57,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, under the program’s dynamic pricing model. It is a great example of using points in a highly touristic destination during peak season, where cash rates can rise quickly.
Good to know: if you are planning a longer stay, consider taking advantage of the Marriott Bonvoy: Stay 5 nights for the price of 4 when using Marriott Bonvoy points benefit. It is an excellent way to reduce the total cost of a stay.
To earn these points, several options are available in Canada. You can consult our comparison of the best Marriott Bonvoy credit cards or, more broadly, the best credit cards for hotels.
The W Ibiza is part of the program’s premium brand collection. This weekend in Ibiza with Jean-Maximilien will remain a fond memory. We enjoyed the seaside promenade, a pleasant meal at Yellow Fish, and the calm of Santa Eulalia, far from the buzz of Ibiza Town. The hotel’s intimate scale even enhanced the feel of a couples’ getaway.
Would I go back? Yes—if you want to disconnect, it is the perfect place, ideally in the height of summer to fully enjoy the pool and the beach.
