During my stay at the Grosvenor House, a luxury collection Hotel in Dubai, I took the opportunity to go to the nearby Le Royal Meridien Beach & Resort and stayed there for one night as well.
Guests of the former can go to the latter and enjoy the outdoor facilities such as the swimming pools and the beach. And honestly, this hotel is really ideal for families. I’d like to go back with mine!
Le Royal Meridien Beach and Resort is a category 7 hotel of the Marriott brand. And with all the great facilities on offer, it’s easy to see why.
You can stay there from $340 CAD per night or use Marriott Bonvoy points: a night is available from 50,000 points. Given the price, the second option would be the best.
Le Royal Meridien Beach and Resort is located in the Marina area and overlooks JBR Beach, adjacent to The Ritz-Calrton Dubai. For more information on what to do in the area, I recommend our article on themust-sees of Dubai.
If you are arriving from the airport, allow 30 minutes by taxi.
Le Royal Meridien Beach and Resort is located at the Marina, so it’s nice to walk around there.
Shops and restaurants are also within walking distance, including The Beach shopping center. You can go to the Skydive, enjoy beach parties (Zero Gravity) or go to the movies, or even enjoy a “suspended dinner” up high in the air!
You can take a river shuttle to get to the big wheel, the Eye of Dubai.
To go further, you’ll need a car.
In the lobby, there is a very long reception desk.
Floral arrangements are placed in front of the main desk to thank customers for their loyalty.
Various lounges and seating areas are available in the lobby.
Various lounges and seating areas are available in the lobby. A mix of colours, textures and natural materials remind us of a beach.
Namely the hotel has been completely renovated in recent years. I don’t know if the elevator parts have been renovated, that was the one thing that stood out a bit.
The communal areas are bright, and there are even plants in the elevators, which is very welcome.
When you enter the suite, there isn’t really an entrance. Direct access to a dining room with table and four chairs, console and mirror.
Separated by a partition, is the lounge with a modern/contemporary-style corner sofa and chair, with a beautiful rear window.
Spaces are well defined. A desk is also available, with a height-adjustable chair. Sockets are available on the desk.
The coffee/tea tray and coffeemaker are also included.
The only drawback is the location of the TV. Not really suitable if you want to watch it from the sofa.
The bedroom is a nice surprise, nicely sized and bright with full-length curtains.
The decoration is original. There’s a sofa area and a desk with an armchair that’s less suited to working with a computer.
The dressing area is very large, hidden behind the bedroom. Everything is closed, leaving a linear space.
The bathroom is modern. Bath, shower, two basins. It’s all there. A door to the toilet area would have been a plus.
This Suite’s added bonus is its long terrace. It was very pleasant to have coffee there in the morning, for example.
Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa offers a wide variety of restaurants:
The Brasserie 2.0 is a large restaurant. It opens to the outside with a terrace and a view of the main pool.

At the entrance of the hotel there is also The Hub, an American-style café where you can sit and work.
As you walk through the corridors of the hotel you will find a tea room. It was closed when I visited in the afternoon.
Finally, young people are far from being forgotten. Here is the access for the teenagers’ club. The room is modern and offers musical instruments and games for example.
Outside, you can choose between the terrace Le Deck with a service on the terrace or put your feet in the water at its bar.
Each restaurant has its own decoration according to the type of cuisine prepared. Some are located inside the hotel on the upper floors, and others are outside.
For those who would like to relax a little, the Caracalla SPA is available with a fitness room as well.
The hotel’s outdoor spaces are huge! To access the hotel beach, you cross the main pool and walk down a path.
Or you can go through a playground designed for young children. The climbing structures are in the shade, protected by a canvas. It’s quite a nice space!
A football pitch is even available. You can possible play tennis, volleyball or table tennis.
Finally, a large garden for relaxing is available around the pool if you prefer a more quiet time.
The main pool is connected to the bar Le Deck. It is large, airy and has a bridge running through it. Many deckchairs are available.
Finally, there are two other pools if you get tired of the first one. All of them have a paddling pool or a family-friendly area.
The beach is just as large as the areas around the pools. There’s plenty to enjoy. Access to the sea is a bit far from the deckchairs.
A demarcation is present to prevent guests from other hotels from invading. Since I arrived by the beach, the staff asked me for my room card . Coming from Grosvenor House, I had no problem getting in.
Although I didn’t stay there, I got a very good impression of the Royal Meridien Beach and Resort. The facilities are modern, bright and suitable for families. I really felt like I was on vacation on its beach. The restaurant offer is just as tempting and takes us on a journey of its own.
