Review: AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront

Après une première semaine passée dans la région du Parc Kruger, nous voici à Cape Town. Pour ce séjour de 4 nuits dans la ville, nous avons choisi l’hôtel AC Hotel Cape Town Waterfront, un hôtel de catégorie 3 dans le programme Marriott Bonvoy lors de notre séjour.

Notre vol en provenance de Johannesburg arrivait en fin de soirée. Après avoir pris possession de notre voiture à l’aéroport de Cape Town et une vingtaine de minutes de trajet, nous voici arrivés au AC Hotel Cape Town Waterfront autour de 22h.

This brand new hotel is undoubtedly one of the finest Marriott hotels in Cape Town.

À proximité de la réception se trouve le “dépanneur” de l’hôtel avec différents produits locaux.

Nous avions 2 chambres dans l’hôtel (ma mère voyageant avec nous): pour l’une des chambres, j’ai utilisé 5 crédits de surclassement en suite qui me restaient en cette fin d’année (un privilège de mon statut Titanium – accessible également aux membres Platinum). Quelques jours avant l’arrivée, j’ai reçu la confirmation qu’une des deux chambres avait bien été surclassée.

Ce sera celle qu’utilisera ma mère et nos enfants. Pour Audrey et moi, ce sera une chambre classique. Ces deux chambres seront au 3ème étage.

Let’s start with a tour of the suite that my mother and our children will share, beginning with the living room. We appreciate the choice of materials between modern and classic. My mother enjoyed her morning coffee there while the children were sleeping in the room.

On the living room table, we found a welcome gift.

Note: the sofa is NOT a sofa bed.

The bedroom is enormous and occupies the corner of the hotel. The King-sized bed comfortably accommodated my mother and our two children.

There is an office in this room, as well as plenty of storage for luggage. On this desk, we found pieces of information about the hotel and the city, a Nespresso coffee machine and a kettle. A refrigerator is also there. Practical – especially for the “great milk lovers” accompanying us!

In the bedroom entrance, a small closet in which you will find an ironing table as well as the safe.

The suite has 2 bathrooms:

• In the bedroom
• In the living room

My mother will get one while the children will take ownership of the other!

These two bathrooms are identical and consist of a large shower.

The toiletries are of high quality.

On our side, with Audrey, we had a more classic room, one you could get by redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points.

The bathroom (composed of a shower) and the accessories are identical to those of the suite (Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, Bluetooth alarm clock).

The hotel has a gym on the 2nd floor. Very lovely with exceptional brightness and quality machines.

The pool is close to the hotel’s outdoor terrace and offers views of the docks. Unfortunately, the weather was not favourable during our stay, and we were not able to fully enjoy it (only our daughter did some dives).

Breakfast is in the hotel restaurant, at the lobby level.

With the kids, the best seats are the tables with benches!

Coffee machines are available in self-service.

Le petit-déjeuner est servi sous la forme d’un buffet, et les hôtels AC sont reconnus pour la qualité de leurs petits-déjeuners. Celui de l’hôtel AC Hotel Cape Town Waterfront ne dérogera pas à la règle: il est tout simplement EXCELLENT !
