The Lufthansa Business Class Lounge at Munich Airport (MUC) is accessible in 3 ways:
For a limited time, Lufthansa decided to offer access to certain airport lounges to holders of The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express:
…at Munich (Terminal 2) and Frankfurt (Terminal 1B) airports.
Lufthansa and American Express have been offering this for over a year now… and keep extending the end of the “trial period.”
Currently, the trial is supposed to end on October 31, 2019.
American Express has a network of airport lounges around the world, called the “Global Lounge Collection from American Express.”
This network provides access to over 1,200 airport lounges in more than 130 countries.
To access these lounges, you need one of the 2 Platinum cards:

I accessed this lounge on an Aeroplan award ticket in business class, upon arrival from my Lufthansa flight on an Airbus A350 from Montreal.
With my connection to Barcelona only 3 hours later, this lounge was perfect for working and relaxing.
Plus, in the morning, there were few people, as you’ll see in the photos!
Near the entrance, there are high tables, ideal for working with a computer.
This lounge is particularly bright, which is pleasant to catch up with jet lag after getting off an overnight flight between North America and Europe.
Televisions broadcast news channels continuously.
And clocks show us the different times around the world.
Around 11:00 AM, the buffets offer breakfast or lunch/dinner items. High tables are also available on the buffet side.
The hot beverage machines are brand new and very efficient!
I wasn’t accompanied by my children this time… so they don’t know what they missed!
Finally, if you’d like a drink… there’s an embarrassment of riches. Free of charge, of course!
The buffet/dining area is well separated from the rest of the lounge, which is pleasant.
An excellent lounge in Terminal 2 of Munich Airport! I highly recommend it if you’re connecting through this airport.
Especially since you could access it even when traveling in economy class on Lufthansa… as long as you have The Platinum Card® from American Express in your pocket!
