World of Hyatt New Hotels: Earn Double Points, Up to 25,000 per Stay

As of October 1, 2026, World of Hyatt gives you double your base points at its new hotels, up to 25,000 bonus points per stay. The new offer replaces the 500 bonus points per night the program used to hand out at properties recently added to its portfolio.
To earn these points, you book one specific rate, the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer". We break down how the new World of Hyatt new hotel offer works, what it pays you depending on the nightly rate and when the old one was worth more.
The new version rewards spending: you earn double your base points on eligible rates, up to 25,000 bonus points per stay. It replaces the old one, which paid 500 bonus points per night with no registration, award stays included.
The table below compares both versions.
| Feature | Until September 30, 2026 | Since October 1, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus | 500 points per night | Double base points |
| Cap per stay | None | 25,000 bonus points |
| Rate to book | Any rate | "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" only |
| Award stays | Eligible | Not eligible |
| Registration | None | None, but the rate is mandatory |
You earn double points by following the seven rules set out in Hyatt's terms. Check each one when you book, because a single mistake is enough to lose the bonus.
As a World of Hyatt member, you usually earn 5 base points per US dollar spent at the hotel. With this offer, you earn 5 more, for a total of 10 points per US dollar on eligible rates and incidental charges. Elite status bonus points, however, are not doubled.
You hit the 25,000 bonus point cap after US$5,000 in eligible spending during a single stay. Based on our valuation of 1.8 cents CAD per World of Hyatt point, the extra 5 points are therefore worth about 9 cents CAD per US dollar spent.
Compare with the old offer based on your nightly rate:
In short, the new offer works in your favour on paid stays above US$100 per night. On cheap nights and award stays, however, it earns less than the old one.
Hyatt presents the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" rate as a members-only rate with savings built in. Even so, it is not always the cheapest one on the page: at Thompson Rome, One Mile at a Time found it at €824 a night, against €696 for the cheapest rate. At The Clayfield, on the other hand, it costs less than the standard flexible rate.
Compare the total price before you book. The 5 extra points per US dollar are worth about 9 cents CAD: they will not make up for a price gap of 15% or more on the room, like the 18% found in Rome.
This rate also cannot be combined with group rates, packages, special rate programs such as Hyatt Privé or other promotions, unless expressly stated. Before counting on the World of Hyatt fall promotion at the same time, check the terms when you book.
Your bill also comes in US dollars. Most Canadian credit cards add a 2.5% foreign transaction fee, which wipes out more than a quarter of the value of the 5 extra points (9 cents CAD per US dollar). The Scotiabank Passport® Visa Infinite + Card charges no foreign transaction fees, for a C$150 annual fee, so you keep the full value of the offer.
Two Canadian hotels are on the list: The Clayfield, part of The Unbound Collection, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Hyatt Select Kingston, both in Ontario. As of October 1, 2026, the list included 64 locations worldwide, and it changes as new properties join World of Hyatt.

Each hotel has its own offer period, and your check-in date must fall within it. For Canadians heading south, the list also includes several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, such as Park Hyatt Riviera Maya, Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort and Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana.
You earn World of Hyatt points mostly by staying at its hotels. If you are an Aeroplan member, the Aeroplan and World of Hyatt partnership also lets you earn in both programs on every eligible stay. On October 1, 2026, World of Hyatt replaced its 500 bonus points per night at new hotels with double base points, up to 25,000 per stay. Book the "New Hotel Member Bonus Offer" rate only when the night costs more than US$100 and the rate stays close to the best price available. For an award stay or a cheap night, the offer no longer pays anything extra.
