From June 10 to 22, 2026, Aeroplan gave back 10,000 points on hotel bookings paid with your points, provided you used promo code HOTEL626. Here, for reference, is how the offer worked and the value breakdown, useful if a similar promotion returns.
The Aeroplan HotelSavers program lets you book hotel nights directly with your points, without transferring to a hotel chain. During the promotion, Aeroplan gave back 10,000 points as soon as your cart reached 50,000 points redeemed.
One nuance to keep in mind: depending on the establishment, certain local taxes and resort fees are still collected directly by the hotel upon arrival. Check the details before confirming.
Our internal estimate places the Aeroplan point at around 2 cents in target value. Based on this, here is the breakdown.
In other words, a 50,000-point booking effectively costs you 40,000 points. This is a 20% discount at the 50,000-point threshold. Since the rebate is a fixed amount of 10,000 points, the percentage decreases beyond that: about 10% on a 100,000-point booking. If you add the 4th night free, the savings climb even higher on stays of four nights or more.
Conversely, if the points booking seems overvalued compared to the cash rate, the offer does not correct this imbalance. Always compare the cash rate before redeeming. Our advice: only book if you were going to use your points for this hotel anyway.
Don’t quite have 50,000 points on the clock? Aeroplan credit cards remain the fastest way to build a balance, thanks to their welcome bonuses. The TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card currently offers up to 40,000 Aeroplan points, the American Express® Aeroplan®* Reserve Card goes up to 150,000 points, and the CIBC Aeroplan Card completes the trio of Air Canada partner issuers.
