Voyageuse à la porte d'embarquement devant un avion, promotion Aéroplan 4X points en classe Économie
To the point Air Canada brings back its 4X Aeroplan points promotion in Economy class. Conditions, eligible regions and the best cards to maximize the bonus before July 3.

Air Canada is bringing back a promotion that really pays off: 4X Aeroplan points in Economy class. To take advantage, you must book your tickets between June 25 and July 3, 2026. Travel, meanwhile, can take place until February 28, 2027.

In practical terms, you earn four times more bonus points on your flight’s base fare. The promotion applies to Economy class, but also to Premium Economy and Business Class (Standard fares). Here are the exact conditions, eligible regions and cabins, and the best credit cards to get the most out of this bonus.

How the 4X bonus works

The 4X bonus is additive. Air Canada adds four times your base earn to the usual earn, bringing the total to five times the points for that ticket.

Let’s take a concrete example. A flight that normally earns 1,000 base points gives you 4,000 bonus points thanks to the promotion. In total, you walk away with 5,000 Aeroplan points for that single ticket.

Eligible flights and regions

The promotion covers a wide network. It targets domestic flights within Canada as well as routes between Canada and several regions of the world.

  • Canada: all domestic flights
  • North America: Canada to the United States and Mexico
  • Sun: Canada to the Caribbean and South America
  • Europe and Africa: eligible transatlantic routes
  • Asia-Pacific: eligible transpacific routes
  • Economy Basic Fare: excluded for Europe, South America, Africa and Asia-Pacific (eligible for Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean)
  • India: destinations excluded from the promotion
  • Taxes and third-party fees: not included in the calculation

Points are calculated on the base fare and carrier surcharges. Taxes, fees and third-party charges are therefore not included in the bonus calculation.

Which cards to maximize

The 4X bonus is added to the points you already earn with your credit card. With an Aeroplan co-branded card, you therefore stack the card’s purchase multiplier on top of the flight bonus.

The American Express Cobalt Card earns Membership Rewards points transferable to Aeroplan at a 1:1 rate. Meanwhile, Aeroplan cards from American Express, CIBC and TD deposit points directly into your Aeroplan account.

Should you book now?

If you already had a trip in mind by February 2027, the answer is yes. The booking window only lasts a few days.

If you’re unsure about your dates, opt for a changeable or refundable fare. That way, you lock in the bonus without boxing yourself into a specific itinerary.

This bonus also comes in a context of changes at Aeroplan. The award chart has evolved recently, and some points redemption opportunities will soon disappear.

Our Review

I monitor this type of Aeroplan promotion closely, and this one is worth paying attention to. The 4X bonus is a great opportunity to accelerate your points accumulation, whether you travel in Economy, Premium Economy or Business Class this summer or fall. The only real catch remains the July 3 deadline. To follow upcoming Aeroplan offers, subscribe to our newsletter.
