A new 45,000-point top tier

The new 45,000-point tier targets a small number of high-end hotels. For these properties, the cost in points rises by 50% compared with the current 30,000-point ceiling.

It is mainly the most in-demand destinations that move to this tier. If you had one of these hotels in mind, it is better to act before mid-September.

Good news: the 5,000-point tier

Not everything goes up. The entry tier drops from 7,500 to 5,000 points per night. Some budget hotels therefore become cheaper on points than they are today.

How to book before the increase

Book before September 15: nights booked before that date keep the current rate
Favour refundable awards: you lock the rate without a firm commitment
Watch for drops: if a hotel moves to a lower tier, you get the difference back

Wyndham confirmed that bookings made before September 15 will be honoured at current rates. Moreover, if a booked hotel sees its rate drop after the change, the program automatically refunds the difference in points.
