During my stay at the Moxy Vienna Airport, the rate was €175 or 20,500 Marriott Bonvoy points. So I decided to use the points to pay for my hotel night.
This is still good value for money for an airport hotel, especially considering its convenient location.

The hotel is ideally located about a 5-minute walk from the main terminal at Vienna Airport. To get there, simply follow the signs in the arrivals hall, take an underground passage, and then take the elevator.
The hotel’s exterior is already a clue to the quirky atmosphere that awaits you inside.
Check-in is at the central bar, which also serves as reception. This open concept can create queues at peak times, which can be a drawback. However, it contributes to the hotel’s relaxed atmosphere.
The Moxy’s rooms are compact (less than 20m²) but well designed:
Staying with a friend, we opted for a room with two single beds.
Points to note: the playful and sometimes daring decor (lipstick messages on the mirror, piñata in the room) may surprise some guests.
The bathroom is optimized (read… small)!
The Moxy’s catering concept is based on a buffet formula:
For dinner, the hotel offers a “crockpot” concept with a single dish (e.g. red chicken curry with rice) for €8.50.
Breakfast is not free (€15) and offers a decent selection of continental products. But if you have access to airport lounges – such as the SKY Lounge Schengen or the Austrian Business Lounge and Senator Vienna – I’d advise you not to pay for breakfast at the Moxy!
Drinks and snacks are relatively expensive for a hotel in this category (€3.50 for a bottle of soda).
The Moxy’s lobby is one of its highlights. It is designed to encourage social interaction and offers a variety of spaces for working, relaxing or dining. It has:
The decor is modern and playful, with many fun design elements, such as Polaroid photos in the elevator.
It’s a bit like an upscale youth hostel.
There’s a small gym in the lobby, which has the advantage of being bathed in natural light. Which is great when you’re jet-lagged!
The Moxy Vienna Airport offers a unique hotel experience, particularly suited to young travellers and those who appreciate modern design and a relaxed atmosphere.
Its main assets are its proximity to the airport, its playful design and its friendly common areas. This hotel could be just the thing for a stopover before or after a flight with Austrian Airlines, for example.
However, some aspects could be improved, such as the limited catering on offer, the lack of comfortable desks in the rooms and the high prices of snacks and drinks.
In short, the Moxy Vienna Airport is an excellent choice for a night’s transit through Vienna airport, offering a memorable experience that’s different from traditional airport hotels.
