After a night at the The St. Regis Mexico CityI arrived at the JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City, also a member of the Marriott Bonvoy program. It is a category six hotel and costs between 40,000 and 60,000 points per night.

I preferred to keep my points and pay for my stay with my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express^® Card given the rate I got.

The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points to stay for free at over 7,000 hotels worldwide is to be a Marriott Bonvoy American Express (and/or Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express^MD Card) cardholder.

The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City is located in the upscale neighbourhood of Polanco. It takes about 30 minutes to get there from Mexico City International Airport (MEX).

It is adjacent to the W Mexico City Hotel.

Upon entering the lobby of the JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City, one quickly realizes its imposing nature.

The lobby of the JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City is simple and elegant.

I checked in using the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app. At the time of my visit, the hotel was being renovated. However, the reception reassigned me to a fully renovated room with 2 beds on the upper floor.

I gave my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express^® Card as collateral and to pay for my stay there. With the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express^® Card, you earn 5 points per dollar for all your spending at Marriott Bonvoy hotels.

This is the best credit card to have if you stay at Marriott Bonvoy hotels frequently.

The room is of a nice size. It has two beds and a sofa; I appreciate the visual warmth of the wooden floor. And the contrast with the other furniture in imitation marble and wood.

A Nespresso coffee machine is available, as is a mini bar. The room has been modernized with the addition of USB outlets here and there, and all the modern comforts.

As for the bathroom, it has a large walk-in shower.

In the entrance, a cupboard contains a safe and an umbrella (very useful during our visit).

The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City has a swimming pool on a high floor. Access is even possible from inside the hotel (convenient in rainy weather). The pool terrace offers a beautiful view of the Auditorio Nacional and the surrounding park.

The gym at the JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City is right next to the pool, and I liked the natural light. The machines are rather modern and varied.

During our visit, because of COVID-19, there was no buffet. But a table service with appetizing dishes. I particularly enjoyed the smoothie and the Cappucino.

If you make purchases in the bars and restaurants of your hotel, do not forget to charge these expenses to your room bill. So you’ll earn up to 17.5 points per dollar based on your Marriott Bonvoy status!

When you visit this establishment, it will undoubtedly have completed its renovations. This should make it even more enjoyable!
