Marriott Bonvoy Lounge: A New Elite Lounge at About 320 Asian Hotels by 2027

Marriott Bonvoy is launching the Marriott Bonvoy Lounge, a new lounge format reserved for eligible elite members at select premium hotels in Asia-Pacific and Greater China. About 100 hotels in Asia-Pacific, excluding China, are expected to switch to the new format by February 2027, followed by about 220 hotels in Greater China by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
Marriott calls it a pilot. If you are a Canadian member of the Marriott Bonvoy program with Platinum Elite or Titanium Elite status and you stay in Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok or Shanghai, the club lounge at your hotel is about to get a new name and a new format. Here is what is confirmed, what is still unclear and how to plan around it.
The Marriott Bonvoy Lounge replaces the current format of qualifying lounges at Marriott's Premium-tier hotels in Asia-Pacific and Greater China. Marriott describes a lounge that runs from breakfast to evening bites, with food and drinks built around local flavours.
Marriott lists four concrete changes at participating lounges:
Members will be able to find participating hotels with the lounge filter in the Marriott Bonvoy app and on marriott.com, which will also show lounge hours and property-specific details.
The rollout comes in two waves, both scheduled before spring 2027.
| Region | Hotels (approx.) | Expected by |
|---|---|---|
| Asia-Pacific, excluding China | 100 | February 2027 |
| Greater China | 220 | End of Q1 2027 |
| Total | 320 | End of Q1 2027 |
Marriott reserves the Marriott Bonvoy Lounge for eligible elite members at participating hotels. Today, club lounge access is a program benefit starting at Platinum Elite. Marriott has not yet published which tiers qualify for the new lounge, nor the list of participating hotels.
If you are chasing Platinum Elite for trips to Asia, start by checking what a point is worth in our analysis of Marriott Bonvoy points value: lounge access remains one of the benefits that best justifies the qualification effort.
The announcement leaves several questions open, and they matter if you pick your hotel based on the lounge.
If you have a trip to Asia planned for 2027, check the lounge filter in the app before you book: it will show whether the hotel participates and when the lounge is open. Also compare the lounge with the elite breakfast at hotels that do not have one.

By the end of the first quarter of 2027, Marriott Bonvoy will replace the club lounge format at about 320 premium hotels in Asia-Pacific and Greater China with the Marriott Bonvoy Lounge, reserved for eligible elite members. If you hold Platinum Elite or Titanium Elite status and travel to Asia, check the lounge filter in the app before every booking, and do not assume the evening spread you get today will be the same next year.
