Toronto remains the easiest starting point, with the widest selection of hotels and flights accessible with points. Ottawa complements a combined stay well with its proximity to Gatineau in Quebec.
Plan for approximately 4.5 hours by car or just over an hour by plane. VIA Rail train remains a comfortable option, with a journey of approximately 4 hours.
The trip takes approximately 1.5 hours by car. A day trip is sufficient to see the falls, but an overnight stay allows you to also enjoy the region’s vineyards.
Summer and early fall offer the best conditions for visiting Toronto, Ottawa, and Niagara Falls. Winter remains harsh but allows you to enjoy the Rideau Canal in Ottawa when conditions permit.
