Methodology and sources
A transfer to ALL is final: Amex does not take back converted points.
An ALL point has a fixed value: 1,000 points give you €20.00 off, at any participating hotel. ALL terms and conditions (Accor)
Value of one MR point = value of one ALL point (€0.02) ÷ transfer ratio. In Canada, at 2:1, one MR point is worth €0.01, or about $0.0161.
Local-currency values are estimates at the European Central Bank reference rate of Sep 29, 2026. Accor applies the discount in euros and converts it at its own rate when you redeem. ECB reference rates
The ALL discount does not apply everywhere. Excluded: Day Use rates, prepaid rates paid entirely in points, group rates, crew rates, bookings through online travel agencies, and IntercityHotel, Steigenberger, MAXX, Jaz in the City and Zleep hotels.
ALL points are not redeemed one at a time. Online, the discount starts at 1,000 points, then applies in blocks of 2,000 points above 2,000. At the hotel, the minimum is 1,000 points, except in France (2,000) and in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia and Taiwan (500). Some of the points you receive may therefore wait for a future stay: the calculator does not account for this.
In Canada, a single transfer is capped. The cap applies to each transfer, not to your balance: a large balance goes over in several transfers, so the cap is not part of the calculation.
The Canadian ratio was read on Canadian Amex and Accor pages. It is never estimated or borrowed from another country: ratios vary widely from one country to the next.
† Value read on Accor's site only: the Amex page is silent or limited to signed-in cardholders.
Frequently asked questions
Should I transfer my Amex points to Accor?
In Canada, rarely. At 2:1, a Membership Rewards point is worth about $0.0161 once converted to ALL points, less than our valuation of an MR point (1.7¢) and well below a transfer to Aeroplan. Our verdict: avoid.
How much is an Accor point worth?
An ALL point is worth 2 euro cents: 1,000 points give you €20 off your stay, at any participating hotel. Accor applies the discount in euros; in Canadian dollars, the value follows the exchange rate when you redeem.
Can I reverse the transfer?
No. Once your Membership Rewards points are converted to ALL points, Amex does not take them back. Make sure you have a stay in mind before transferring.
