A Bonvoy point has no fixed value: what you get depends on the night you book. We use 1¢ per point, our in-house valuation. Our points and miles valuations
Value of a transferred MR point = Bonvoy points per MR point (1.2) × value of a Bonvoy point (1¢) = 1.2¢.
It is an estimate, not a price: an off-peak night can return far more, and so can a night that is expensive in cash but cheap in points.
By default, the calculation uses the current ratio, outside promotions. During a transfer promotion, pick its bonus in the calculator: the extra points are rounded down to a whole point, and the verdict is recalculated with the same thresholds.
Verdict: below 1.7¢, our value of an MR point, a transfer destroys value ("Avoid"); from 2¢, the value of a transfer to Aeroplan, it is "Good"; in between, "Fair".
