After using your rewards points credit card in a store, you’re wondering whether the points or the associated multiplier have been applied to your transaction. Few financial institutions provide this precise information: only American Express<\/a>, Scotiabank<\/a>, TD<\/a> (for TD Rewards only) and MBNA<\/a> offer a breakdown of points accumulated per transaction. <\/p>\n

Other banks usually just show a monthly total on the statement. Let’s explore how each financial institution displays this information and where to find it. <\/p>\n

With American Express, the points earned per transaction are visible directly in your online account or via the mobile application.<\/p>\n

To view the points earned on a transaction, go to the American Express website and log in to your account. Then, in the Membership Rewards section on the right, click on View & Redeem<\/em>. <\/p>\n

For TD Rewards<\/a>, you have to go through the mobile application, and go to your credit card details. Tap on “Discounts”, then choose the card for which you wish to view points details by transaction. You can then tap individually on each transaction to see the points details according to the amount spent. <\/p>\n
