Plan your winter destinations with Air Canada’s new routes!<\/p>\n

For winter 2026-2027, Quito joins Air Canada’s network as a new must-visit destination, while several other routes and increased frequencies are offered from major hubs. Toronto, in particular, will see its flights to Rio de Janeiro and Lima resume earlier in the season, with increased frequencies, while Bogot\u00e1 will also benefit from more flights. On the Montreal side, routes to Lima, Santiago, and Bogot\u00e1 will be strengthened to meet strong demand for Latin America. <\/p>\n

Concurrently, Air Canada will continue to expand its long-haul network with the launch, starting December 2026, of the only non-stop route between North America and Sapporo, Japan. Operating from Vancouver, this new route will allow travelers direct access to Hokkaido Island, renowned for its ski resorts and unique winter culture. <\/p>\n

These additions are part of Air Canada’s international growth strategy, which consolidates its Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver hubs, while offering more connection options and availability for both leisure travelers and Aeroplan members.<\/p>\n

Starting December 2026, Air Canada will inaugurate a historic route by becoming the only airline to offer non-stop flights between Vancouver and Sapporo, in Japan’s Hokkaido Prefecture. This new seasonal service will allow travelers to enjoy Hokkaido’s renowned ski conditions, natural hot springs, and local gastronomy, including its famous ramen and craft beer. <\/p>\n

Operated three times a week aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, this route consolidates Vancouver’s position as Air Canada’s trans-Pacific hub. Passengers will also benefit from convenient connections to over 45 destinations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico via Vancouver. <\/p>\n

Canadian travelers will thus be able to easily access Hokkaido’s famous powder snow, relax in natural hot springs, and savor authentic local cuisine, including its famous ramen and renowned local beer.<\/p>\n

For passengers from Japan, this new route represents the fastest way to access North America, with connections to over 45 destinations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico via the Vancouver hub.<\/p>\n

Excellent news for winter sports enthusiasts: ski bags and equipment are included in Air Canada\u2019s normal international checked baggage allowances (with the exception of basic economy fare).<\/p>\n

A distinguished culinary touch will enhance the experience: Chef Masaki Hashimoto, Michelin-starred and a member of Air Canada’s Culinary Panel, offers his creations on the Signature Class \u00e0 la carte menu on all flights between Canada and Japan.<\/p>\n

With this new destination, Air Canada becomes the carrier offering the most non-stop flights to Japan from continental North America, complementing its existing routes to Tokyo<\/a> (Narita and Haneda) and Osaka (summer service).<\/p>\n

Additionally, Montreal gains a weekly direct connection to Belize City (BZE)<\/a>, for better access to this Central American gem.<\/p>\n

Next, Air Canada becomes the first Canadian carrier to offer direct flights to Puerto Escondido <\/a> from Toronto. Additionally, the new Vancouver-Tepic route opens access to the magnificent Riviera Nayarit region<\/a>, which strategically coincides with the opening of a new highway connecting Tepic to Puerto Vallarta in October 2025.<\/p>\n
