Thanks to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">its spacious grounds, inner courtyard and layout, the hotel feels like a haven from the noise and action of the city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;295062&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;]\n<div id='mb_shortcode_post_map'\n\t style='width: 100%; height: 300px;'><\/div>\n[vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The hotel is located on Sathorn Road, close to Bangkok&#8217;s financial district and Chinatown, and a ten-minute walk from Lumphini MRT station. Bangkok is very well served by public transport, and you can also take a tuk-tuk or a Grab (the equivalent of Uber) to get around by car or motorcycle or scooter. Note that Bangkok has a lot of traffic, so the metro is sometimes a better alternative.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;The Sukhothai Bangkok &#8211; Check-in&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;&#8221; el_id=&#8221;the_sukhothai_bangkok_-_check-in&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As soon as we arrived, doormen took charge of our luggage and delivered it to our rooms. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since we arrived late after a 24-hour flight, check-in went quickly. The suite was impressively large, with a grand entrance hall leading directly into the living room area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;294942&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the living room, where a welcome message with chocolate truffles and a bowl of fresh fruit awaited me. A few minutes after my arrival, Thai sweets were brought to my room. The large window offered a superb view of the inner courtyard and Bangkok. A mini-bar was at my disposal, along with a Nespresso coffee machine and mini-refrigerator. Beneath the large flat-screen TV, a small desk was available for work. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;294944,294946,295002&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; onclick=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, the room included a king bed, flat-screen TV, and intelligent light control for the entire suite. A second window gives a similar view of the lounge area, with sliding panels that cut out all light for a restful night&#8217;s sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;295004,295006,294948&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; onclick=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have to say that the room that blew my mind was the bathroom. Covered in mirrors, it included two vanities, a large bathtub, a rain shower, a wardrobe and all the necessary toiletries. It wasn&#8217;t just the mirrors; the room was huge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;295008,295010,294940,294950&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; onclick=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slippers, flip flops and an umbrella were also available. The service was impeccable, the food tasty, and I would have needed to stay at least a week at this hotel to be able to sample every dish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;The Sukhothai Bangkok &#8211; Other services&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;&#8221; el_id=&#8221;the_sukhothai_bangkok_-_other_services&#8221;][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;The Sukhothai Bangkok &#8211; Restaurants&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;&#8221; el_id=&#8221;the_sukhothai_bangkok_-_restaurants&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sukhothai offers a varied selection of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Colonnade: international cuisine<\/li>\n<li>Zuk Bar: with indoor lounge and outdoor terrace<\/li>\n<li>La Scala: Michelin Guide Italian restaurant<\/li>\n<li>Celadon: traditional Thai cuisine restaurant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The hotel also offers &#8220;Sunday Brunch&#8221; on Sundays (for a fee), a gourmet version of breakfast with seafood, a wide selection of European cheeses and charcuterie, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=&#8221;0&#8243; images=&#8221;295028,295026,295024,295020,294958&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; onclick=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>We were able to test the Celadon restaurant&#8217;s tasting menu, comprising 9 courses and 5 wine pairings. It was my first dinner of my trip in Thailand and certainly one of the most memorable! We were also lucky enough to witness a short traditional dance performance during the meal. With a busy schedule visiting the city, I was only able to enjoy breakfast. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;295088&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The buffet featured fruit, cereals, salads, cold meats, breads and pastries. To accompany the meal, the \u00e0 la carte menu offered many options, although the portions were tapas-sized, as seen here.
