There are only three hotels under the Marriott banner in Malta. So I chose the hotel according to the comments found on the internet, the accessibility as well as the surroundings of the hotel… and I have no regrets.<\/p>\n

Here’s a brief history of this hotel. Initially, it was known as Le M\u00e9ridien Malta. Following renovations costing over 30 million euros, it was renamed the Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa. The hotel, which was due to open in 2020… had to postpone its opening until 2021 due to the pandemic. Visit The Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa<\/a> boasts 274 rooms and 27 suites spread over 13 floors.<\/p>\n

The Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa is just a few meters from Balluta beach, along a peaceful seafront promenade, in the lively, cosmopolitan city of St. Moritz. Julian’s. Given its elevated position, it enjoys a breathtaking view of the bay and the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in San \u0120iljan.<\/p>\n

As soon as I arrived at the hotel, they took care of me and my suitcase and accompanied me to reception, where the staff was highly professional. I booked two nights at the Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa for 80,000 points. The cost was 325 euros \/ night, in May. After the usual formalities (passport, Bonvoy credit card), Jonathan accompanied me with my suitcase to my room on the 6th floor.<\/p>\n

A little later in the evening, an employee brought me a bottle of red wine, sparkling water and a bottle of water. What’s more, following my mistake of thinking that electrical outlets in Malta were the same as in Europe, the employee kindly installed an adapter for me.<\/p>\n

The next day, I was treated to a pleasant surprise when I returned to the room, as it was my birthday, and they gave me a bottle of champagne, a birthday cake and some sweets. A lovely touch.<\/p>\n

The main lobby, ceramic flooring and beige, white and brown decor, is located on the 3rd floor. There are three counters, the concierge desk and the Atrio Bar & Restaurant with its terrace. There are also a few armchairs. Behind a panel are a few tables and chairs where you can work peacefully.<\/p>\n

The hotel has a second lobby, located on floor -1, but it’s not functional, so you’re redirected to the 3rd-floor entrance. On the other hand, they have made chairs and tables available to customers. This floor also houses a boutique and hair salon. It’s also easier to exit the hotel via this lobby, as it’s located directly on the bay. It’s also at this lobby that it’s easier to order a bolt to get around or to the bus stop.<\/p>\n

I didn’t get an upgrade, as they were all occupied. So I got a superior room with a king-size bed and a balcony (overlooking the garden). But I’m not complaining because the room is still big and well laid out.<\/p>\n

Like the lobby, the d\u00e9cor is carefully designed in beige, white and brown shades. Whether it’s the choice of ceramics or lighting fixtures, it all adds up to the desired effect in this type of hotel. And not forgetting, to my delight, it has a wooden floor.<\/p>\n

The toilet is separate from the shower room, which is very practical.<\/p>\n

It has plenty of storage space. In addition to a safe ironing board and iron and bathrobes, there’s a Nespresso coffee machine and mini-bar.<\/p>\n

The shower room features a rain shower and a large corner bath. One thing I particularly liked was the clothesline in the shower room. Here you can dry your bathing suit, among other things. A simple thing but a pleasure.<\/p>\n

Its king-size bed is very comfortable and cozy. USB and electrical sockets are on either side of the bed, as are light controls. To complete the room, there’s a TV, a work table and a sofa with coffee table.<\/p>\n

On the balcony, a table with two chairs. I admit that the view wasn’t great, but since my aim wasn’t to spend my time in the room, it was good enough for me.<\/p>\n

Lunch is available at The Marketplace (2nd floor).<\/p>\n

The cost of lunch is 24 euros – free for platinum status and above. It’s buffet-style, and the variety of products available is impressive: From hot and cold dishes to juices and even coffees. We can also order eggs cooked to our liking. All are satisfying.<\/p>\n

The lobby also features the Atrio Bar and Restaurant, serving Italian and Mediterranean specialties. They also have a large terrace overlooking the bay. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try their cuisine, but I did enjoy a cocktail there in the evening, and it was beyond my expectations.<\/p>\n

The Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa has not one but two swimming pools.
\nThe first, on the 2nd floor, is an indoor swimming pool. There are showers, changing rooms with lockers, a Jacuzzi inside the pool itself, and a second set back.<\/p>\n

Sun loungers are available all around the pool. Next to the pool, you can also enjoy a massage at the Myoka Lotus Spa. The Myoka Lotus Spa also features a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and cold bath.<\/p>\n

The second pool – The Sundeck – is located, as its name suggests, on a terrace adjacent to the lounge (on the 9th floor). Sun loungers, parasols and a hot tub surround it. And the view of the city from the terrace is sublime. If you wander around this floor, you’ll discover other terraces with superb views over the Bay.<\/p>\n

If you’re feeling peckish or fancy a poolside cocktail, the Sundeck Pool and Bar serves cocktails and snacks all day.
\nBoth pools offer on-site towel service.<\/p>\n

The lounge on the 9th floor is quite spacious. Divided into three rooms, it features sofas, armchairs, tables and chairs. Two smoking areas – with tables and chairs – have been set up outside. They are located on either side of the lounge. During the day, they serve cold (non-alcoholic) drinks; in the evening, in addition to non-alcoholic beverages, they offer beer, hard liquor, wine and champagne. Of course, they also offer hors d’oeuvres in the evening, which are, I must say, excellent and very varied. And I must mention the professionalism of the lounge staff. They give you impeccable service.<\/p>\n

Located on the 2nd floor, the training room has everything you need for your morning (or evening) routine. It includes cardio equipment and weight training machines. You also have access to the pool’s dressing rooms. However, you must be aged 16 and over to access the gym.<\/p>\n

The Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa is located in an area rich in activity. It’s easy to get to the capital (or any other city) from the bus stops at the bottom of the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars and a whole neighborhood to discover. What’s more, we’re just a 20-minute drive from Valletta, a city recognized as the European Capital of Culture.<\/p>\n

Take a day trip from Valletta to visit Mosta, Mdina and Rabat. Buses and private drivers are available to take you around. Cruising<\/a>, private sailing or diving excursions in the Maltese caves and lagoons (Blue Lagoon, Crystal Lagoon & caves), you’ll spend a relaxing moment admiring the magnificent coastline.<\/p>\n

I loved my experience at the Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa. Everything was perfect, from the lounge to breakfast at The Marketplace. I must also say that the hotel staff’s service is fabulous, worthy of a 5-star hotel. I recommend this hotel with my eyes closed.<\/p>\n
