Formerly known as Montreal Saint-Hubert, the airport changed its name to MET – Montreal Metropolitan Airport<\/strong>. However, it retains its AITA code: YHU<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Construction of the 21,000-square-meter (225,000-square-foot), nine-gate terminal will begin in summer 2024, with completion scheduled for fall 2025. The terminal will be able to handle 4 million passengers a year.<\/p>\n

The new terminal will feature comfortable seating for all passengers, food and beverage counters and stores.<\/p>\n

In addition, a new 130-room Holiday Inn Express<\/a> hotel will be built nearby.<\/p>\n

Finally, the MET – Montreal Metropolitan Airport is just 15 minutes from downtown Montreal. A free electric shuttle service will run between the terminal and downtown Montreal.<\/p>\n

According to the plan, the first passengers should be welcomed at the new airport as early as 2025.<\/p>\n

To limit noise pollution, various measures will be put in place, including a ban on wide-bodied aircraft, a ban on commercial night flights and the installation of silencers on flight school aircraft.<\/p>\n

Porter had announced a partnership<\/a> withA\u00e9roport Montr\u00e9al Saint-Hubert (YHU<\/a>), to build a new 21,000-square-meter (225,000-square-foot) terminal<\/strong>. It will have a capacity of over 4 million passengers per year. Porter will offer more than 10 new routes in Canada.<\/p>\n

The design of the Montreal St. Hubert YHU Airport will be based on what Porter did at the Billy Bishop YTZ airport.<\/p>\n

Porter built a terminal at YTZ in 2006 and 17 years later, the airport now handles 3 million passengers a year to 20 destinations.<\/p>\n

The YHU terminal will allow faster processing of passengers to save on travel time, in addition to offering a VIP<\/a>lounge<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This investment will result in more than 500 permanent jobs at the new St. Hubert terminal and the creation of a new pilot and flight attendanthub<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Here are the Canadian and regional destinations to be served by the MET from 2025. These include :<\/p>\n
