concrete!<\/p>\n<p>You can be compensated in <strong>4 cases<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>if you are denied boarding<\/li>\n<li>if your flight is cancelled<\/li>\n<li>if your flight arrives more than 3 hours late at its final destination<\/li>\n<li>if your luggage is lost, damaged or delayed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be compensated,<strong> it must not be due to exceptional circumstances<\/strong> (weather conditions for example) beyond the company&#8217;s control.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For delays and cancellations<\/strong>, the compensation will be <strong>between 250 and 600 euros<\/strong> depending on the distance of the flight:<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the EU<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 1&nbsp;500 km: 250 euros<\/li>\n<li>More than 1&nbsp;500 km: 400 euros<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Between an airport in the EU and an airport outside the EU<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 1&nbsp;500 km: 250 euros<\/li>\n<li>From 1&nbsp;500 to 3&nbsp;500 km: 400 euros<\/li>\n<li>More than 3&nbsp;500 km: 600 euros<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong> Your Paris-Montreal flight arrives 3.5 hours late in Paris, <strong>you are entitled to a compensation of 600 euros<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>N.B.: In the direction North America &#8211; EU, the company must be European to be entitled to compensation. Therefore, Air Transat or Air Canada does not have this right. However, in the other direction, they are obliged to compensate!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For lost, damaged or delayed luggage<\/strong>, the airline is responsible and must pay you a compensation of approximately 1,300 euros. However, if the damage is due to a defect in the baggage itself, you are not entitled to any compensation.<\/p>\n<p>[vc_message color=&#8221;info&#8221;]If you wish to <strong>file a claim<\/strong> for lost or damaged baggage, you must do so in <strong>writing<\/strong> to the airline within <strong>7 days<\/strong>, or within <strong>21 days<\/strong> of retrieving your baggage if it was <strong>delayed<\/strong>.
