Until a few years ago, Lufthansa offered First Class flights to Canada. This is no longer the case.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;60223&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>As for the <strong>A380<\/strong>, this aircraft is no longer produced by Airbus, and many airlines such as Air France decided to part with it during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>First Class + A380: <strong>two concepts on the way out<\/strong>. I did not have the chance to travel on the Concorde. So I try to seize every opportunity that comes my way to quench my <em>Avgeek&#8217;s<\/em> thirst.<\/p>\n<p>So here is my latest experience: a First Class flight aboard a Singapore Airlines A380 from Frankfurt to New York. A flight booked thanks to KrisFlyer Miles.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Singapore Airlines A380 Suites&#8221; el_id=&#8221;singapore_airlines_a380_suites&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>After 1 week in Portugal, I reached Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) to board this flight to New York (JFK).<\/p>\n<p>Once I arrived at the check-in counter, getting my boarding pass with a design reserved for Suites passengers was fast and easy.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203281&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>This flight from Frankfurt to New York is a <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/guide\/libertes-de-lair-quest-cest\/\">5th freedom<\/a> flight.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Right granted by one State to another to land and embark, in the territory of the first State, traffic coming from or going to a third State.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Singapore Airlines has obtained the right to operate this flight between Germany and the United States, allowing the aircraft to have a technical stopover. It cannot technically fly directly between Singapore and New York.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, it&#8217;s possible to book only the section between Frankfurt and New York, which is much cheaper in points\/cash than the complete Singapore &#8211; Frankfurt &#8211; New York flight.<\/p>\n<p>Arrived at the boarding gate, many people were lining up.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203279&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>With a First Class ticket, I boarded simultaneously with business class passengers. First and Business Class passengers are directed to the aircraft&#8217;s upper deck (the lower deck containing the Economy and Premium Economy classes).<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203275&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Warmly welcomed by the Chief of Cabin &#8211; who will call me by my last name during the whole flight &#8211; I am taken to the Suite I had chosen: 02A.<\/p>\n<p>The Singapore Airlines A380, equipped with the new Suites, can only accommodate 6 passengers in First Class. This compares to the 14 seats offered by Emirates in its A380s. Even Etihad offers <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/reviews\/flights\/abu-dhabi-paris-etihad-first-class-apartment-a380\/\">three more seats<\/a> in the same size cabin.<\/p>\n<p>This gives you an idea of the exclusive character of this cabin.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203147&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;The Suite&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left&#8221; el_id=&#8221;the_suite&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>As I enter my Suite, what strikes me is the feeling of space. Much larger than what is offered by Emirates in its <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/reviews\/flights\/emirates-first-class-game-changer\/\">B777s<\/a> or Etihad in its <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/reviews\/flights\/abu-dhabi-paris-etihad-first-class-apartment-a380\/\">A380s<\/a> (which are no longer flying).<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203159&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203277&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The cabin was flooded with sunlight for the entire flight. In it, you can store two carry-ons as well as clothes. Suites 3A and 3F are designed for passengers travelling alone.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;203211&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The partition separating the two suites can therefore be lowered.
