The following example is a good proof.<\/p>\n<p>\n<!--more-->\n<\/p>\n<h2>Loyalty programs status match<\/h2>\n<p><em>Status match<\/em> s an offer made by a loyalty program to provide you with status equivalent to that which you already have with a competing loyalty program.<\/p>\n<p><em>Status matches<\/em> are a common practice in loyalty programs, especially hotel programs.<\/p>\n<p>Some programs work case-by-case&#8230; while others create real acquisition campaigns with dedicated sites.<\/p>\n<h3>Become a Best Western Diamond member with a status match.<\/h3>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an example from Best Western Rewards, who nicely called their <em>status match<\/em>: &#8220;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bestwestern.com\/fr_FR\/best-western-rewards\/status-match.html\"><strong>Status Match No Catch<\/strong><\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24063\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24063\" style=\"width: 715px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/status-match-bw.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-iPhone wp-image-24063\" src=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/status-match-bw.jpg\" alt=\"status match bw\" width=\"715\" height=\"607\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24063\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Status match, Best Western edition<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>With our Status Match&#8230;No Catch<sup>&reg;<\/sup> program, we will match your ELITE status in any other hotel loyalty program, FREE of charge. Thanks to my <a title=\"American Express Platinum Card<sup>&reg;<\/sup>\" href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/go\/amex-platinum-card\/\" rel=\"noindex\">Platinum Card<sup>&reg;<\/sup><\/a>, I am a Gold member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/le-programme-de-recompenses-starwood-preferred-guest-spg\">Marriott Bonvoy program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_207833\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-207833\" style=\"width: 900px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-207832 size-large\" title=\"Benefits Marriott Bonvoy\" src=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Avantages-Marriott-Bonvoya%CC%80-1024x633.png\" alt=\"Benefits Marriott Bonvoy\" width=\"900\" height=\"556\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-207833\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marriott Bonvoy Benefits<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/statusmatcher.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Statusmatcher.com<\/a>, gave me some pointers on which program I should choose <a href=\"http:\/\/statusmatcher.com\/company\/best-western\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to go to check out Best Western Rewards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Through this, I found that <strong>Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members received the highest status: Diamond Select<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bestwestern.com\/fr_FR\/best-western-rewards\/status-match.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The procedure is described on the Best Western Rewards website<\/a>. But there is no need to fill out the form indicated.<\/p>\n<p>So, I just sent an email to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"mailto:StatusMatch@bestwestern.com\">StatusMatch@bestwestern.com<\/a> saying:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My Best Western Rewards membership number<\/li>\n<li>My Name<\/li>\n<li>My address (as indicated in the account)<\/li>\n<li>The competitor loyalty program<\/li>\n<li>My status with the competitor&#8217;s loyalty programme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I added a <strong>screenshot of my Marriott Bonvoy account<\/strong> proving that I am indeed a Gold Elite Member.<\/p>\n<p>10 minutes later (!!!!), I got an email validating my new status: <strong>Diamond Select<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24063\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24063\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/bw-diamond-select-jm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-iPhone wp-image-24064\" src=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/bw-diamond-select-jm.jpg\" alt=\"bw diamond select jm\" width=\"810\" height=\"385\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24063\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Achieving Best Western Rewards Diamond Select status<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>So in the space of 10 minutes, I went from the lowest status (Blue) to the highest status (Diamond Select) which normally requires <strong>at least 25 nights in the year staying at Best Western hotels<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-263085 size-large\" title=\"Best western statutes\" src=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/statuts-Best-Western-1024x674.png\" alt=\"Best western statutes\" width=\"900\" height=\"592\" srcset=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/statuts-Best-Western-1024x674.png 1024w, https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/statuts-Best-Western-450x296.png 450w, https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/statuts-Best-Western-200x132.png 200w, https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/statuts-Best-Western-768x506.png 768w, https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/statuts-Best-Western.png 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This status allows you to get 50% bonus points for each stay. In addition, the status will be valid until March 31, 2025!<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_content_element wpb_miles_element\"><\/div>\n<h3>The goal<\/h3>\n<p>Thanks to my <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/cartes-de-credit\/carte-de-platine-american-express\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Express Platinum card <\/a>, I am:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gold member of <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/reward-program\/marriott-bonvoy\/\">the Marriott Bonvoy program<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Gold Member of <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/programme-fidelite\/hilton-honors\/\">the Hilton Honors Program<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Gold member <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/reward-program\/radisson-rewards\/\">of the Radisson Rewards program<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks to various status matches I was able to become:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>World of Hyatt Explorist Member (no longer available, but you can <a href=\"https:\/\/world.hyatt.com\/content\/gp\/en\/offers\/elite-tier-offer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;try out&#8221; on this page<\/a>&#8220;)<\/li>\n<li>Diamond Select Member of the Best Western Rewards Program<\/li>\n<li>AccorHotels Platinum Member (No longer available, but <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/guide\/tutorials\/accor-shareholders-club-gold-elite-status\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be obtained otherwise here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>IHG Platinum Member (No longer available, but some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihg.com\/content\/fr\/fr\/deals\/b2b\/fasttracktoplatinum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promotions return<\/a> from time to time)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.choicehotels.com\/fr-ca\/choice-privileges\/membership-levels\/status-match\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Choice Hotels Platinum<\/a>Member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What is the purpose of this &#8220;race&#8221; for status? In addition to ensuring that I am always greeted very well in any hotel that is a member of a group, it allows me to achieve the status of another program. And sometimes, <strong>it even allows you to climb the ladder faster!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Bottom Line<\/h2>\n<p>Usually programs allow a lifetime <em>status match<\/em>.
