[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]On our return from our family trip around the world<\/a>, shortened because of the COVID-19 pandemi<\/a>c, we took the opportunity to make a final 3-night stop at the Sinapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A few months before, Jean-Maximilien had stayed with Jean-Francois at The Vagabond Club, Singapore, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel<\/a>. Although charming, this hotel is not suitable for families, hence our decision to book the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This one has large rooms as well as a very pleasant swimming pool, a true haven of peace before the confinement that was awaiting us in Canada![\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85192″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading el_id=”booking_at_the_singapore_marriott_tang_plaza_hotel” text=”Booking at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel<\/a> is a category 5 hotel. A stay thus costs between 30,000 and 40,000 points.<\/p>\n

The hotel entrance is majestic, with valet service and taxis available.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85194″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]After crossing a short corridor that also leads to offices and a commercial area, one enters the large lobby hall. It is made up of several spaces.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85198″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]At the center, a comfortable lounge with seats or sofas, where we had dinner several times. To the left of the entrance, the Java+ deli offers snacks, cakes, delicious pastries, and at the back, there’s the Marriott Caf\u00e9 room and its buffet for morning breakfasts.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85200″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]We let ourselved be tempted by pastries and cakes. Finally, the counter space to check in. A hall with large columns and high ceilings give a glimpse of the few upper floors.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85204″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text]Let’s not forget that we were at the beginning of the Covid period (mid-March 2020). We had to wear our masks when we talked to the staff. All facilities were cleaned regularly and inspected. The staff was welcoming throughout our stay.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85202″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading el_id=”our_room” text=”Our room” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]Access to the rooms is via the elevators located behind the check-in counters. Everything is airy, sober and well decorated.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85206″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]We’re going into the bedroom. We find a living room space. There is also a safe deposit box and an ironing board.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85230″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading el_id=”the_bathroom” text=”The bathroom” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The bathroom is well organized, in the kind of style I like. It has a bathtub and a shower as well as a counter with two separate basins.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85232″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]It is well lit and functional. The only drawback is the access to the bath taps in the corner.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”85234″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”85236″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading el_id=”our_welcome_gift” text=”Our welcome gift” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]A staff member rang the doorbell to bring us a welcome tray.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85240″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading el_id=”the_hotel_services” text=”The hotel services” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]We had the choice of having breakfast in the private Club lounge, depending on your Marriott Bonvoy status, or at the Marriott Caf\u00e9 located on the ground floor behind the Java+ counter.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading el_id=”breakfast_at_the_club_lounge” text=”Breakfast at the Club lounge” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The Club lounge is located near the pool. We were greeted by one of the staff members, to whom we gave our name and room number.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85242″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The bay window overlooks the pool. The space is pretty big.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”85244″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”85246″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The buffet area includes a wide choice of food. We did not enjoy it much though, as children are not allowed in and we couldn’t take food out of the lounge. Too bad, the offer was good.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”5″ images=”85248,85250,85252,85254,85256,85258,85260,85262″ img_size=”large”][vc_custom_heading el_id=”breakfast_at_the_marriott_caf_” text=”Breakfast at the Marriott Caf\u00e9” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The breakfast offered was more copious on the ground floor, we recommend it! There was very wide choice of food. Hydroalcoholic gel is available for everyone at the entrance of the Marriott Caf\u00e9, which is very handy before enjoying a buffet.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”85294″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”85296″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]A buffet more than well stocked, suitable for children, with a choice of breads, soups, ice creams and many more. We enjoyed eating there, especially since this one was free with our Titanium Marriott Bonvoy status.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”5″ images=”85300,85302,85304,85306,85308,85310,85312,85314,85316,85318,85320,85322,85324,85326,85328,85330,85332,85334,85336,85338,85340,85342,85344,85346,85348,85350,85352″ img_size=”large”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]To give you an idea of the cost, a breakfast for 2 adults should have cost us almost $100 SGN (almost equivalent in Canadian dollars)!<\/p>\n

We are very happy to have a status with Marriott Bonvoy, which allowed us to save a lot of money during this world tour<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85354″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_column_text]In other words, we were full after a meal like this one and only ate afterwards at the end of the day.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85356″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_custom_heading el_id=”our_evenings_in_the_hall” text=”Our evenings in the hall” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text]To continue, our Marriott Bonvoy status allowed us to enjoy the food in the hotel lobby free of charge. At first glance, we thought the offer would be small. It was not the case at all!<\/p>\n

You have the choice to order what you want<\/strong> on the menu, with bonus dessert at the Java+ deli, and the dishes are delicious![\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”85266″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][vc_single_image image=”85264″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” ][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading el_id=”the_pool” text=”The pool” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=””][vc_column_text el_class=”checkmarks”]The pool is very large. In the water, there are pressure jets to massage your back. We loved our stay, especially since it was our last “vacation” days before our lockdown in Montreal!<\/p>\n
