This will be an opportunity to test <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/?p=84560\">the new SoinPropre+ process<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZGhUe8f1lFE&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]During the recent Aeroplan promotion <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/?p=89084\">offering 50% off award tickets<\/a>, I booked a trip between Montreal and Vancouver to try out Air Canada&#8217;s new business class on board the Airbus A330. I can&#8217;t wait to see what <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/testimonials\/vancouver-points\/#Mes_vols_avec_Air_Canada\">Jonathan, one of our authors, has<\/a> to say about it. <\/p>\n<p>A bargain for only <strong>12,500 miles Aeroplan one way<\/strong> instead of 25,000.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]Good thing I had the idea of booking two one-way flights (Montreal &#8211; Vancouver \/ Vancouver &#8211; Montreal) rather than one round-trip flight (Montreal &#8211; Vancouver &#8211; Montreal). After all, I wouldn&#8217;t be taking the return flight to Montreal! <\/p>\n<p>So I was able to cancel it free of charge <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/?p=81328\">thanks to the extension of the free cancellation period<\/a> to October 16, 2020.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;To France&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h4|text_align:left&#8221; el_id=&#8221;to_france&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]I chose to book a business class flight to Europe from Vancouver (it&#8217;s still the same cost as from Montreal <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/guide\/tutorials\/air-canada-aeroplan-flight-rewards-rules\/\">until the new program is introduced on November 8, 2020<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>By choosing to fly Swiss<\/strong>, I avoided paying a carrier surcharge: it cost me 55,000 miles Aeroplan and $75.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;99476&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_shadow&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]This itinerary enabled me to test Swiss&#8217;s new business cabin in its Airbus A340-300s (whereas it&#8217;s usually A330-300s that are positioned on Montreal).[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;77891&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_rounded&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]Unfortunately, COVID-19 means that itineraries are never fixed for long! 24 hours after my booking, Aeroplan sent me new tickets for a flight with Lufthansa: Vancouver &#8211; Frankfurt &#8211; Paris. <\/p>\n<p>This flight was available for booking on Aeroplan: but with <strong>a surcharge of over $600<\/strong>, I naturally avoided it!<\/p>\n<p>Here, since the change is made by Aeroplan, <strong>I don&#8217;t have to pay any surcharge!<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;99479&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; style=&#8221;vc_box_shadow&#8221;][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;checkmarks&#8221;]This change allows me to test the Lufthansa Airbus A330-300 on a flight lasting over 10 hours (unlike the <em>red-eye<\/em> flights between Montreal and Europe).<\/p>\n<p>I think the experience was similar <a href=\"https:\/\/milesopedia.com\/en\/reviews\/flights\/lufthansa-lh475-montreal-munich-a350-class-business\/\">to the one I had on the Lufthansa A350<\/a>. In the milesopedia community, the announcement of the extension of this quarantine <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/milesopedia\/permalink\/2840063866227569\/\">has sparked a great deal of respectful debate<\/a>.  The arguments are valid for both opponents and defenders of this measure.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever happens, the law is the law.
