Group Overview<\/h2>\n\n

The history of Palladium Hotel Group begins in Ibiza, when businessman Abel Matutes Juan opened his first two hotels in the late 1960s. His vision was based on three pillars: luxury, quality, and high-end service. The group expanded to the Balearic Islands, then to the Canary Islands in the 1980s. <\/p>\n\n

In the 1990s, Fiesta Hotels & Resorts\u2014the original name\u2014launched its first resorts in the Caribbean, in Playa B\u00e1varo (Dominican Republic). In 2000, the group opened its first property in Italy (Sicily). Two years later, the Palladium Hotels & Resorts brand was born with the opening of two resorts in Riviera Maya. <\/p>\n\n

In 2004, the chain adopted the name Fiesta Hotel Group and segmented its properties into distinct brands. In 2012, the group officially changed its name to Palladium Hotel Group<\/strong>, in reference to its five-star Caribbean resorts.
