The WestJet Rewards program offers you the opportunity to match your Aeroplan or VIPorter status by completing two challenges. Completing the first challenge will give you status until June 30, 2023, and completing the second challenge will extend your status until December 31, 2023.

To qualify for the WestJet Rewards Platinum level, you must provide proof of your Aeroplan Super Elite or VIPorter First status.

To qualify for the WestJet Rewards Gold level, you must provide proof of one of the following statuses:

  • Aeroplan 35K, 50K or 75K
  • VIPorter Ascent

To qualify for the WestJet Rewards Silver level, you must provide proof of one of the following statuses:

  • Aeroplan 25K
  • VIPorter Venture

Challenge 1: Form

The process for equivalency of status is quite simple. The form must be completed and submitted by April 30, 2023 with the following information:

  1. Your name
  2. Your 9-digit WestJet Rewards ID (which is given to you when you join WestJet Rewards).
  3. Email address and phone number associated with your WestJet account.
  4. A photo or a scanned copy of your membership card from the Higher Status granted by the competitor showing your name and current level valid until at least December 31, 2023.

Once the application is submitted, the approval process can take up to 10 business days.

Challenge 1 will allow you to enjoy your Gold, Silver or Platinum level benefits until June 30, 2023. If you want to extend these benefits, go to Challenge 2.

Challenge 2: Travel with WestJet

Once WestJet Rewards has validated your concurrent status, you will have access to the benefits of status with WestJet until June 30, 2023.

If you want to extend this status until the end of 2023, you must travel at least once with WestJet before June 30, 2023.

But that’s not all, you will also need to reach a certain level of spending to maintain your assigned status:

This represents approximately 25% of the amount of recognized annual expenses required to maintain status.

Eligible Expenses

Qualifying spend is 100% of the amount spent on eligible published base fares for WestJet-marketed flights flown by the member within a qualifying year.

The following items are not eligible toward qualifying spend WestJet Fares: Basic fares, Member Exclusive fares, contracted fares, tour operator fare, WestJet Vacations group package bookings, partner-marketed flights, partner bookings made on Westjet.com, taxes, fees and charges, any portion paid with WestJet dollars or any other rewards program redemption

 

Completing both challenges is the most lucrative option as it will allow you to keep your status until December 31, 2023!
