This return of points applies to eligible redemptions:

This offer applies only to new bookings made between December 10 and December 21, 2021 at 3:00 a.m. EST.

The booked itinerary must end no later than July 1, 2022.

Also, note that this promotion applies to new exchanges only. Previous exchanges that were cancelled and re-scheduled up to December 21st are not eligible.

This is especially great for booking Aeroplan flight rewards for your travel in the first half of 2022.

For example, you could get an economy flight with Air Canada within North America for as little as 4,000 Aeroplan points.

Don’t forget that for all bookings made before December 31, 2021, you get one free change. And even if you change your flights, you will still be eligible for this 20% Aeroplan points return promotion.

The condition being that your new travel dates end before July 1, 2022.

If the travel dates of the original Eligible Redemption are changed, the offer will still be awarded to the Participating Cardholder’s Account so long as travel is still completed by July 1, 2022 at 03:00 a.m. EST, respecting the Travel Period of the Offer, and will be awarded based on the updated number of points redeemed.

Alternatively, you could also earn 20% back in points for car rentals, hotel stays and Air Canada vacation packages, but the value earned will be less than that for flight rewards.

You could also buy Air Canada gift cards with your Aeroplan points. However, the value obtained is only 1.2 cents per point after the 20% return, which is low compared to our estimate of 2.0 cents per point.
