Earn 25% more Marriott Bonvoy points and 30% for Hilton Honors with your Membership Rewards points!

Starting today through October 15, 2022, cardmembers who transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors will receive 25% and 30% more points, respectively.

As a reminder, the last similar promotion was in September 2021. So it’s a good time to take advantage of it, while it lasts!

Normally, 1 Privilege Point = 1.2 Marriott Bonvoy points. But with the promotion, that means 1 Membership Rewards points = 1.5 Marriott Bonvoy points.

For example, if you transfer 1,000 Membership Rewards points, you will receive a total of 1,500 Marriott Bonvoy points (instead of 1,200).

For Hilton Honors, the ratio is 1 Membership Rewards point = 1.3 Hilton Honors points. So if you transfer 1,000 Membership Rewards points, you will receive a total of 1,300 Hilton Honors points (instead of 1,000).

At this time, the promotion may not appear on the American Express website, but it is in the terms and conditions at the bottom of the page. The base transfer of 1,000 points for 1,200 Marriott Bonvoy points applies.

For example, the 30,000 points American Express CobaltTM Card welcome bonus can be converted to 45,000 Marriott Bonvoy points or 39,000 Hilton Honors points.

And if you’re a cardholder: every spend in a 5-point-per-dollar category (grocery stores, restaurants, bars, convenience stores) equals 7.5 Marriott Bonvoy points. This is an excellent value!

The advertised time frame for the payment of bonus points to the hotel loyalty program is a maximum of 48 hours.

This is a great Membership Rewards transfer promotion from American Express.

I usually recommend transferring Membership Rewards from the American Express Cobalt™ Card, Choice Card from American Express™ or American Express Business Edge™ Card to Marriott Bonvoy.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that they be used for Membership Rewards transfers to Marriott Bonvoy, and a lesser extent, Hilton Honors hotel programs.
