IHG announces a promotion to achieve status faster.
Simply by signing up for this IHG One Rewards promotion and then staying at their hotels within 90 days of signing up, you get :
- Gold Elite status until December 2024 after 2 nights at the hotel
- Platinum Elite status until December 2024 after 5 nights at the hotel
For example, you would normally have to stay for 40 nights to achieve Platinum Elite status.

Be sure to synchronize your registration and travel dates to optimize everything. At the same time, sign up for the 2,000 points for every 2 nights promotion to maximize even more.
Unfortunately, in Canada, there are no IHG co-brand credit cards (unlike Marriott Bonvoy and Best Western Rewards). Right now, the best way to lower an IHG hotel bill is to redeem points from some travel credit cards for a statement credit.
