Our take

CIBC is adding Priority Pass to its Aventura Gold and Infinite credit cards by offering 4 annual lounge accesses. This is a very nice addition that will satisfy the occasional traveler. To view other credit cards offering Priority Pass, visit this page.

To date, at this annual fee level, only the Scotiabank Passport™ Visa Infinite* Card Visa Infinite Passport Card does better by offering 6 annual accesses… and especially by offering no conversion fees for foreign currency purchases (a 2.5% savings). We would have liked to see CIBC add this benefit to cards dedicated… to travelers!

As for the other advantages, they are rather classic in terms of insurance. No indication as to whether the NEXUS membership fee is fully or partially discounted? The NEXUS program costs $50 for five years and is designed to speed up border crossing for low-risk, pre-approved travellers to Canada and the US.
