Buy Aeroplan points: examples with an 85% bonus
By purchasing Aeroplan Points with an 85% Bonus, an Aeroplan Point costs you 1.89 cents ($2,450 divided by 129,500 Aeroplan Points in the example below). Which is decent considering we value the Aeroplan point at 2 cents.
For a purchase with a 70% bonus, an Aeroplan point is 2.06 cents ($1,750 divided by 85,000 Aeroplan points). Which might be okay, if you can get more value out of it (like a 4 cent business class flight, for example).
For the record, it’s more expensive than in 2021: Air Canada followed the lead of other airlines by increasing the “normal” cost of acquiring an Aeroplan point from 3 cents to 3.5 cents last December.
