Earn up to 25,000 Aeroplan Miles and First-year no Annual Fee with TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Card!

New Offer for TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Card

TD has just announced a new welcome offer for the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card.

You can get:

 • up to 25,000 Aeroplan Miles
 • Plus, first year no Annual Fee for the Primary Cardholder (instead of $120)
 • an Annual Fee Rebate for the 1st Additional Cardholder (instead of $50)

The rules vary depending on your province of residence.

For Quebec Residents only

If you live in Quebec, you can get:

 • 15,000 Aeroplan Miles when you make your first purchase with your Card
 • 10,000 additional Aeroplan Miles by keeping your account open, active and in good standing for 90 days after account opening

This is a great welcome offer for Quebec residents: unlike other provinces, no minimum spending is required to earn 25,000 Aeroplan Miles!

For Residents outside of Quebec

If you live outside Quebec, you can get:

 • 15,000 Aeroplan Miles when you make your first purchase with your Card
 • 10,000 Aeroplan Miles if you spend $1,500 in Purchases on your Account, including your first Purchase, within 90 days of Account opening.

It’s an average of $500 per month, which is still reachable to most customers, while other premium credit cards require $3,000 in 3 months.

Apply now or wait?

Of course, the new Aeroplan program is in everyone’s heads! It will be launched on November 8, 2020.

It is, therefore, not surprising to see this offer available until November 7, 2020. Indeed, for the new Aeroplan program launch, all Aeroplan credit card issuers will run new welcome offers.

The question, then, is whether we should get this offer or wait for the ones that will be introduced on November 8, 2020?

I do not have the exact answer. However, here are two details to help you choose!

Annual fees

As part of this welcome offer, you can get:

 • First-year no Annual Fee for the Primary Cardholder (instead of $120)
 • an Annual Fee Rebate for the 1st Additional Cardholder (instead of $50)

Please note that as of November 8, 2020, annual fees will increase (see table below).

So this is an opportunity to get:

 • reduced annual fees for almost a year
 • Additional benefits available to the primary and additional cardholders as of November 8, 2020
Before Nov 8 After Nov 8
TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card Td Visa Infinite Aeroplan New
Annual fee $120

(waived with this offer)

$139
Additional Card $50

(waived with this offer)

$75
Preferred pricing
Free first checked bag
Shared benefits with additional cards
1,000 MQS and 1 SQS (per $10,000 of annual purchases)
NEXUS reimbursement up to $100
Hotel/Motel Burglary Insurance
Mobile Device Insurance

So, if you apply for the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card BEFORE November 8, 2020:

 • you won’t pay an annual fee for the first year for both the primary card and the first additional card.
 • you’ll enjoy new benefits available for primary and additional TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Cardholders
 • NEXUS application fee reimbursement of up to $100
 • Enhanced insurance

The Welcome Bonus

Air Canada has made no secret of this: the welcome bonuses that will be offered on November 8, 2020 will be generous in terms of Aeroplan points. Are we talking about 30,000 points, 35,000 points, 40,000 Aeroplan points? At this time, none other than Air Canada and the issuers are in confidence.

However, barring any surprises, I do not think that the annual fee will be waived for the first year. Indeed, given all the new benefits for primary and additional cardholders, it would be unusual to see an annual fee waiver:

 • NEXUS application fee reimbursement of up to $100
 • Free First Checked Bag When travelling on Air Canada (and up to eight travel companions)
 • Preferred pricing on flight rewards
 • New insurance

Of course, I could be wrong. Answer on this point on November 8th!

Conclusion

So it’s a gamble to be made:

 • Apply now to get 25,000 Aeroplan miles and the first year free
 • Wait until November 8 to get a higher welcome bonus in Aeroplan miles, but eventually have to pay a $139 annual fee (primary cardholder) and $75 (additional cardholder)

Anyway. If you decide to take advantage of this offer now, know that the 25,000 Aeroplan miles will become 25,000 Aeroplan points once the new program will be launched.

Also, you can combine points with other members of your family with Family Sharing.
