Cathay Pacific: new credit card coming soon with Neo

To the point Neo and Cathay Pacific begin a partnership and announce the launch of a co-branded credit card coming Fall 2023. Here are the details.

A new credit card will be available to Canadian travellers this autumn thanks to this new partnership between Neo and Cathay Pacific, replacing the current partnership between RBC and Cathay Pacific. Details of the benefits available to cardholders have been revealed.

New Cathay Pacific credit card

Here are the known details of the new Cathay Pacific co-branded Neo credit card:

  • Requested income: $80,000 (personal income) or $150,000 (family income)
  • Welcome offer: Up to 45,000 Asia Miles
    • 15,000 Asia Miles once the card is activated,
    • 30,000 Asia Miles after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months,
    • which is enough to book a round trip between Vancouver or Toronto and Hong Kong in economy class.
  • 10% discount on bookings: For a limited time, cardholders can save 10% on online reservations made on Cathay Pacific from Canada.
  • Earning benefits:
    • Earn 1 Asia Mile for every purchase in Canada
    • 2 Asia Miles on spending outside Canada and on Cathay Pacific flights booked online,
    • 5x Asia Miles at thousands of Neo partners and up to 15x on first-time purchases
  • Travel benefits:
    • Priority online check-in
    • Access to airport lounges
    • in-flight Wi-Fi
    • Access to unique and memorable experiences around the world
  • Insurance :
    • Flight Cancellation

Note that there will also be a card available for newcomers to Canada with guaranteed approval, no credit history required.

Starting in the fall of 2023, this news will give Canadians a new option to earn Asia Miles and fly to Asia using Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.

For its part, Neo continues to expand its credit card portfolio, just after the arrival of the new Tim credit card. We don’t know how much longer the RBC Cathay Pacific Visa Platinum Card will be on the market.
