To the point Until January 2024, take advantage of Aeroplan's Boxing Event sales with the opportunity to earn more points or spend less via the eStore!

Yes, this article is dated December 21, 2023, and you may be wondering… Boxing Week Event, before Christmas? Looks like it is! But we’re not complaining, and this will certainly please those who haven’t finished their holiday shopping yet.

Aeroplan has announced its week-after-Christmas sales, starting now in the eStore. Earn more points per dollar at Amazon, Apple, Dyson, lululemon, Simons, and many other retailers.

You can also take advantage of discounted redemption prices on items or eStore gift cards.

Earn points

In our opinion, the best way to take advantage of these sales is to collect more Aeroplan points via the eStore.

You can therefore earn up to 5x points at your favorite retailers, until January 1, 2024.

While you earn 5x Aeroplan points on eligible Apple purchases until December 24, 2023.

This type of eStore promotion comes at key times of the year, such as back-to-school or the week of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So it can be beneficial to set your strategy and take advantage of these times to do your online shopping blitzes, as long as they are things you really need.

Frederic, a member of the Milesopedia community, showed us very well that it is possible to accumulate a large number of points by taking advantage of these promotional periods.

What’s more, when you pay for your purchases with an Aeroplan credit card, you can earn up to 1.25 Aeroplan points per dollar spent, in addition to the point multiplier offered through the eStore.

Warning: It is important to check the list of exclusions, especially at retailers like Apple where some products are excluded from this offer. In addition, the 5x points offer at Apple ends on December 24, 2023.

Redeem points

Aeroplan is also taking advantage of the week-long Boxing Event to offer discounted point redemption prices in the eStore to save :

  • Up to 15% points on eStore merchandise;
  • Earn up to 7,000 Aeroplan points with the purchase of select gift cards such as Home Depot, Cadillac Fairview, Apple, Costco, IGA, etc.

Using Aeroplan points for eStore items is never the best way to spend your points, even at reduced prices. Based on our semi-annual estimate, we value an Aeroplan point at approximately 2 cents. The best way to get the most value per Aeroplan point is usually to redeem them for flights.

As for gift cards, remember that this trick allows you to accumulate a lot of points when you purchase gift cards.

Then it’s up to you to see if the merchandise requiring fewer points is exactly what you wanted to buy. Do your calculations to find out if you’re satisfied with the value per Aeroplan point, or if you’d rather buy the same item online elsewhere and earn more points.

Bottom Line

Whether you’re shopping for last-minute gifts or for the week-long Boxing Event, it pays to use the Aeroplan eStore. If your strategy is to earn points, you can multiply those eranings on your purchases and take advantage of online sales offered by retailers.

If you prefer to redeem your points for gift cards or eStore items, you can take advantage of special prices. It may not be the best use of your Aeroplan points, but sometimes, when our expenses are higher than expected, it can be a big help to our budget.

If you pay with cash, don’t forget to use your Aeroplan credit card to earn even more points!
