As an Aeroplan member, on your birthday you may receive a targeted offer with attractive perks. Here's how to choose and use it.
Aeroplan Birthday Email
The email comes from Aeroplan and is sent on the member’s birthday. There are four perk options and to help you choose one, here is a description of each.
The deadline for choosing the precious gift is 30 days after your birthday. You should take the time to read the details of each perk before selecting one, since it only takesone click to activate. Once selected, this choice is final.
25% discount on basic rates and free Preferred seats
If you have a trip to book at short notice, this is the best option.
Within 72 hours of selecting this option, an email is sent with a personalized code. It is valid for one reservation only and must be entered during the search.
The 25% discount is applied to cash-only base fares and Air Canada flights only. The destination can be anywhere in Canada, United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
For example, the code can be used for a departure anywhere in Canada to destinations such as :
- Curaçao
- Hawaii
- Jamaica
- Florida (and other American cities)
- Mexico
- Bahamas
- Guadalupe
- Vancouver (and other Canadian cities)
The deadline to book the trip is 30 days after your birthday and 6 months to complete your travel.
The discount is applied to the economy class ticket only, before taxes and other fees. A maximum of one stopover is allowed and there is a maximum of 5 passengers per reservation.
Then, when selecting seats, a Preferred seat is offered for each passenger, for a maximum of five people.
Example of savings
For example, a holiday flight to Orlando for a family of four would save us $550.
In addition, a free Preferred seat is offered for each passenger, valued at $17 and more each.
In addition, if an Aeroplan credit card is used for the reservation, you will earn additional Aeroplan points.
For example, holders of the following cards earn more Aeroplan points:

Not to mention that the holders of these two cards will have travel privileges such as:
- free baggage check-in
- Priority boarding, baggage handling and check-in (American Express® Aeroplan®* Reserve Card only)
5% or 10% off a vacation package with Air Canada Vacations
The discount is valid for a reservation by the end of the year on vacation packages for :
- Mexico
- the Caribbeans
- Central America
- Hawaii
- Orlando
- and Las Vegas
Again, the discount applies to the base rate only and not to taxes and other fees.
The discount is 10% and is applicable for travel between now and December 15. Then, a 5% discount is given for trips made between December 16 and December 31, 2022.
100 Aeroplan points
The easiest choice, but the least profitable. This has a value of $2.
100 Aeroplan points will be deposited into the Aeroplan account only by clicking on “Select“. There may be a delay in the deposit.
500 Aeroplan points
500 Aeroplan Points are deposited with a single purchase of $50 (before taxes) or more via the Aeroplan eStore. The transaction must be completed within 30 days of the anniversary.
Bottom line
This Birthday Perk is a targeted Aeroplan offer. For more chance of receiving it, we recommend that you sign up for Aeroplan promotional communications. Check at the bottom of the “My Profile” section of your Aeroplan account.
However, despite all precautions, you may not receive anything.
